“A beautiful gem of a hotel!”

This spot is a little tricky to find on the windy streets of Arles but it is well worth the effort. Very well run - the rooms are unique and clean. There are so many interesting nooks in the hotel of art and architecture that you may not want to leave! Be sure to visit the turtles in the courtyard.
Very conveniently located to all of the restaurants and sights.

Although it is well hidden near the river walls, Hotel du Musée is well worth finding. It's situated in a beautiful ancient building in the heart of Arles, and is only a short walk from all the best things to see, places to visit, restaurants etc. The family who own it, and their staff, are all very friendly, and make you feel welcome. Rooms are clean and comfy.

Some of the rooms on the top floor may be a little small but we didn't find that a problem.

Car parking is tricky (meters) but there are several areas only a short distance away where you can park for free (including a 'hidden' square very close to the hotel, on the riverside).

The DIY breakfasts are also well worth having and you can eat as much as you want.

Top tip - go to a Sunday afternoon bull fight (French variety where the bull is king, and there is no blood) at the Roman amphitheatre to experience the culture of the area and see a magnificent historical pageant with many of the locals dressed in beautiful traditional costumes (and see the amphitheatre as well).

Room Tip: If possible, avoid the top floor.

Although difficult to find, Du Musse was well worth the effort. It's a charming place as long as you're not looking for a typical American hotel. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Problem -- The shower got water all over the floor.
The location in Arles is near the Rhone River. Great views from the seawall. Walking to restaurants and attractions. The breakfast was worth the euros. The interior courtyard areas were delightful. If visiting the area, be sure to take the time to visit Pont du Gard. It's not to be missed!

The staff was lovely and the location excellent. Lots of parking near to the hotel which was free on the Friday we visited as it was a holiday. The room was very basic and the bathroom tiny but adequate. Decor was charming in the hotel.

We checked out of the hotel on Oct. 7, 2013. Our room was very spacious with a window overlooking a courtyard. The bathroom was renovated and spacious with a good sized tub/shower. The breakfast was tasty and filling. The owner spoke good English.

The Hotel du Musee is well located within easy walking distance to Arles Roman era sites, some fine dining and for leisurely walks along the bank of the Rhone River. After reading other TripAdvisor reviews, we selected a room sized for three. Space was adequate, but the en-suite bathroom was small and shelf space very limited. This is a two star hotel and meets that level with what we believe to be a fair price. Breakfast was available at an extra price and after eating out the first morning, we elected to include the hotel breakfast for the remainder of our 5 day visit. It was a wise decision with enough variety. There was no offer to assist with taking luggage to our first floor (up one flight) room. The room was well kept and the WiFi worked well. We could find only one available outlet in the bathroom to use our adapter for recharging cell phone and camera batteries. Taxis are not abundant and there were none at the Arles train station when we arrived from the Marseille airport. We were fortunate that the Tourist Information office at the station was open and they called for a taxi. While it’s only a 10 or 15 minute walk to the hotel from the station, be prepared to phone for a taxi if needed because of luggage, etc. Hotel du Musee is a good selection for the price.

This small hotel is spread over two or three small buildings which give it very special charm and the opportunity of having two pleasant courtyards. Service was attentive. Breakfast was a treat and offered a great choice of fresh croissants and danishes, along with anything else we may have wanted... Close to several good restaurants, and if you are lucky to a few free parking spaces along the Rhone river.
Great home base for this part of Provence.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms force you to goup several flight of stairs.
