A very interesting place to visit with its associations with Vincent Van Gogh it being the hospital he spent some time in after mutilating his ear during one of his many manic episodes. The lower parts of the quad have since been converted into some sort of well being centre and interesting little shops where one can purchase items connected with the Arles region and Van Gough. The gardens within the quad were very colourful (in September) and have been maintained as they were when Vincent originally painted them during his stay in Arles in the Yellow House. Incidentally a visit to the site of this (Place Lamartine , I think ) was a huge disappointment since it is un recognisable.
