My sister and I stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Du Forum in Arles in the beginning of September 2013. The hotel location is fantastic. The room was quite large and very clean. The bathroom was huge! The bathroom had a frosted glass door which might be awkward for some people. The wireless internet connection worked great.

The most outstanding thing about the hotel was the service! Starting with the adorable, sweet young lady at the front desk - Lelli (I think that’s how she spells it?) What a gem she is. Every question we asked was answered with a smile. There was another wonderful lady at the front desk (so sorry I didn’t get her name) and when we told her we were going to visit Pont du Gard, she suggested a good route for our drive and she told us about a quaint little town named Uzès - which we loved! I would like to thank her for her great advice.

Also the gentleman (Sorry that I didn’t get his name either but he has curly locks of hair) who was so kind to bring us a wine outside - he was so nice and attentive. Exceptional service!

The hotel is a great home base for exploring the area around Arles. Hotel Du Forum is a short walk from the train station and we easily took a day trip on the train from Arles to Avignon. The staff had great suggestions on where to eat and drew us maps so we could easily navigate our way around Arles. Driving can be a challenge in Arles but we booked a parking spot with the hotel and all we had to do is drive to the front and drop the key off and they parked the car for us.

We really enjoyed the hotel and would highly recommend it. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so very enjoyable!!

Old building with it's charm and elegance. The room had particular character, so did things there.
Nice breakfast, though no hot dishes included.
Great location and even greater people working on reception - they know a lot of languages, so no problem with travelers from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany and England, USA etc. Very helpful and always friendly. Gave me best recomendations on the restaurants in the city.

Room Tip: Don't ask a room on the front side of the hotel - there are a lot of cafes on the small square i...

We only stayed one night, but could have stayed longer. The location is perfect, right in the heart of town, and close to lots of restaurants. The hotel is old, but doesn't pretend to be anything else - it has lots of character. If you're looking for a Marriott, this is not the place for you, but if you're looking for charm and history, it's perfect. The bathroom is spacious, with a wonderful shower and a separate water closet. The staff is wonderful. It was our first night in France and they made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was excellent - just right to start our day. For the price, this is a gem.

We had a really great time staying at this hotel in Arles. The location was fantastic and the history of the hotel was so interesting: it has been in the same family for 140 years! There was always really wonderful music playing on the ground floor (reception and bar) and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We really loved our room on the third floor. The windows looked out behind the hotel with a view of the pool, neighbouring tiled rooftops in all kinds of directions and levels... Our bathroom was spacious and nicely finished and very clean. Our room itself was comfortable and a good size and had everything we needed. We would have liked another pillow each - but we didn't ask for one and I'd bet that if we did we would have got them. The pool was lovely and surrounded by vine covered tall stone walls. It really felt secluded and romantic there. I spent a few hours each day working there, sipping tea, and then going for a splash. We didn't have breakfast or spend time in the bar. We would highly recommend this hotel for your stay at beautiful Arles. We are a couple in our 40s.

The location is perfect for the price indeed, right at the heart of Arles, but it could have been better decorated. The furniture, which at first sight seemed ancient, I found to be a little old instead. I thought for the price payed to have a little more services, but I am otherwise very pleased with the stay. I reccommend you go in couples because the double rooms are the same fare as the simple.

We needed a family room (4 people) and after lots of 'we are full, sorry', the Forum came up trumps with spacious 4-person room for a good price including breakfast. Staff were v friendly, helping us with dinner reservations at a nice restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable, if a little dated. The bathroom was also spacious but a bit worn.
Breakfast was reasonable, not amazing.
However, the central location is fantastic and the friendly welcome meant I would definitely return!

Room Tip: We had a room at the back, overlooking the pool. It was really quiet (no street noise) but very hot...

Loved the hotel which is at the heart of Arles, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the decoration is interesting and the swimming pool and back garden beautiful. However we were disappointed by the rooms, they were old and poorly decorated given the price we paid. The breakfast could have been better too. I would recommend this hotel despite the rooms but don't expect a four stars.
