“Comfort & Convenience”

My adult daughter and I shared a VERY spacious room which overlooked the pool. We were, in fact, surprised to have such a large room (two queen beds) for the moderate price. It was spotless, the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and we easily could walk almost everywhere from the hotel's excellent location. ADVICE: park your car in the parking area OUTSIDE of the city walls and, if necessary because of luggage, take a taxi from the stand next door. That way you'll avoid the very challenging medieval ruelles (extremely narrow streets) in the old part of Arles where you can walk to all of the sites. You also will avoid the hotel's garage fees. I really, really liked this hotel and would return again in a heartbeat.

what a find. The high trip advisor rating was spot on. Great location in the main square of the old town, just step out the front door. We requested a quiet room & got a beauty (chambre 50) at the back overlooking the pool. The room was simple, large, very clean, good bed. The bathroom was large. The decor was in keeping with an old french hotel, old but functional & suited the style of the building & great location. Genuine comes to mind. The reception & bar staff were friendly & helpful, booking local restaurants for us (see review on Le Galoubet). Hotel is family owned since 1920s. We had a very good experience & thought it very good value. There is a lift if you don't want to use the grand stair.

Room Tip: if you want a quiet room, ask for one overlooking the pool/back courtyard.

This is a very old city and hence every hotel dates back a couple hundred years. When your stay in a hotel in Arles you have to take this into account for a rating.

For Arles I give it 5 stars. Against over locations it still rates 4stars.

Room was clean. Staff tried hard to make our visit pleasant. Breakfast was standard for Europe. No parking at the hotel but there is street parking close by.

Located on the center square. Great people watching. Close to many restaurants.

Suggestion. There is a great pasty shop about 50 feet around the corner. Have coffee room service and fresh sweets.

We spent 3 nights at Hotel du Forum, family of 7, age range from 15 to 80.
Great location in the heart of the fabulous old town of Arles.
Nice rooms, hotel filled with nice antiqueties, very nice pool area, although the sun only shines on the pool for a couple of hours per day. Nice breakfast, extremely helpful and nice hotel owners and staff, made our stay even better by arranging reservations at local restaurants and giving good advice re things to do and places to visit.
I would definitely stay here again.
Only trouble we had was to try to drive our Mercedes minibus into the old town to get to the hotel. We failed and had to back it back out and park outside the old town, but that was no fault of the hotel :)

We had the family apartment which is quiet and overlooks the courtyard and pool. The two rooms are very spacious, although rather spartan. The beds are comfortably hard. The bathroom is large, and plenty of hot water is always available. It was lovely to sit in the sunlit dining-room each morning and enjoy the hotel's very generous breakfast buffet. We also appreciated the hotel staff parking our car for us in their garage. The staff were all charming, and very helpful with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions. The Arles market on a Saturday morning is particularly worth visiting. Favourite restaurant - Le 16.

This was an easy hotel to find on foot about 15 minutes from the train station; thereafter, beautifully central for all the sights of Arles. The Oggier family and their staff were very helpful with spot-on restaurant recommendations and advice on parking the rental car we acquired just before market day (with all its sudden new no-parking zones). We'd quoted the TripAdvisor special and were indeed offered complimentary breakfast all four days: an excellent buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, meats, cheeses and scrambled eggs as well as cereals, breads and jam. Coffee fell a bit short of greatness. The shower's powerful scalp massage induced nostalgia for the days before water-saving devices took over our home. Provence was so unseasonably cold this May, we loved the hot water and didn't mind sooooo much that, sadly, the advertised pool was empty for pre-season renovations. Our room overlooked an alley, and its bathroom occupied the window wall. Fortunately the room lights were strong, and the extra glass wall helped insulate us from street noise, so we didn't ask to move although Mme. Oggier offered that option, explaining that they had only just recently upgraded it from a children's room to one with wheelchair access. Mattress felt new and high-quality -- no trouble sleeping, despite jet lag. There was a room safe, an older key-operated model, as well as a mini-fridge. All in all, excellent value so long as you are quite clear that you're after "European charm" and not the Hilton. We did feel we got our exercise on those stairs. . .

Room Tip: The rooms vary quite a bit, so if you're choosy, ask to look at several.
