“The ancients were dying to get in!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

To say this is an ancient mausoleum sounds pretty deadening, doesn't it? Well, if you are armed with the relevant background information and if you are lucky enough to meet up with the resident orange tabby cat, you will find it enchanting. It is odd to say, but people where coming from all over Gaul to be buried here. The mystique remains, as you will find if you will just come in,be silent, and feel the place

“Walking tour of Arles - les Alyscamps”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Ancient cemetery, very evocative of van Gogh and also stunning in centuries of use. This cemetery was used from ancient times through the present, and shows it in quiet, contemplative ambience.

“nice walk”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

I always wondered what was Les Alyscamps when I saw pictures by this name by Gogh and Gauguin. There were many paintings with this name by Van Gogh and Gauguin. It is old ancient Roman necropolis. It is about 15 minutes from the center of Arles and it is very nice walk. Especially you are interested in van Gogh and Gauguin's paintings, I highly recommend to go this place.

“Definitely worth a walk!”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

It's a tree lined road, with sarcophagi at both sides of the road. It's a very fascinanting place just a few minutes walk from Arles centre. I just loved it. Arles is a town to rediscover: it's so more Roman than many Italian towns.

“Curious Arles attraction”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Off the beaten path you can find this curious place, a Roman cemetery that has had a very interesting history over the years, not least of which was being the subject of a van goth painting.

There is not a lot of info here. And what is there isnot all that's well put together but it is worth exploring the promenade as well as the kinda spooky church at the end.

Definitely get the Arles Pass and admission is included to this as well as a the other notable sights in the old city.
