I've been here a few times and never regretted it. The food is very good, the owner very enthusiastic about what he's doing and although the price is a little bit steep, I've always come out feeling happy I went in. It's somewhere I'll take friends or family who come to visit.

The only downside is that the decor is somewhat cold and in winter the temperature too, especially if you're sitting anywhere near the door.

We visited at lunch and by the time we arrived we were told there were no choices.
Starter was Scallops and main course Salmon. The starter of scallops was accompanied by a tasty sauce, the main course was one of the better salmon dishes I have had. After tasting the dishes I had no qualms over having no choices as these plates were both very good.
The restaurant is small and does get busy, so probably a good idea to visit near the start of the lunch sitting.
The owner was very friendly and explained everything clearly to us in English.
The bill of 60 euros for the 3 of us was very good value.

We are living in the area for the winter and have tried a lot of its restaurants, many of which are very good. We've now had the pleasure of lunch at L'autruche twice and can honestly say it is excellent and among our few, very special favourites. The menu du jour is inspired, beautifully presented and delicious. The hostess could not be more cheerful, accommodating and efficient. And the ambiance is both simple and intimate. In short, the perfect lunch.

A charming hôtesse, a delightful menu du jour... fresh tuna grilled over greens and saffron risotto with langoustine accompanied by a crisp rosé - and followed by a peach melba. Bright, sunny, delicious like a perfect summer day in Provence. Quality / Price ratio was admirable. Arles offered us truly one of the best dining experiences of the season.

We stayed in Arles for one night in September as part of our Provence cycling tour. We had asked for a restaurant recommendation from our hotel, but chose to wander through the streets. We saw the sign, were intrigued, and walked up to see if tables were available. An English speaking couple next to us remarked that they had made a reservation long in advance. We had a pleasant evening exchanging stories with our new friends and enjoying food and wine, along with great service from the owner. A memorable meal from a memorable trip.
