“Okay, but not Amazing”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

We had heard great reviews about Au Brin de thym. It was okay, but not that special overall. I had the plat du jour which was a risotto with scallops and chorizo. It was fine but not overly flavourful. My partner had the bull which was tough and undercooked. The saving grace was dessert which was limoncello cake. It was basically small cakes that had been soaking in limoncello -- it was very tasty.

“pretty good”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Foie gras appetizer was excellent. Escargot appetizer was good and a surprise in that the portion was quite generous. The snails were on the smaller side but there must've been around 20 of them in that bowl. Plate of the day was an assortment of cold dishes: prosciutto, cantaloupe, watermelon, gazpacho soup, and a good serving of a soft goat cheese dip. The goat cheese dip was a delight, especially when paired with the prosciutto. The bull entree was good, a little tough, though. All the dishes were presented beautifully.

“Disappointing for Arles”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Au Brin de Thym was our only disappointing dining experience in Arles. The fish was skunky, the quail undercooked, and the service was horrendous. And no, I don't at all mean rude by some American standard, nor did we provoke the bad service with any Yankee tourist misbehaviour. Á Coté and La Table d'L were delightful places to enjoy a meal in Arles - pass on Au Brin de Thym.
