Le Mozart Hotel in Aix-en-Provence provides a good base for exploring the city. it is no more than a 10 minute walk from the start of the old town with its pedestrian areas full of restaurants and shops. The hotel bedrooms are functional and clean as is the breakfast room. It should be noted that the hotel does not serve evening meals so a trip into town will be necessary.

Car parking is at a premium and unless you arrive early it will be necessary to pay an additional €7.50 per night for covered garage space.

A good, basic hotel providing good value for money.

We stayed here for four nights in early September. It was a very good choice, staff are lovely and very attentive. Our room was small but it was clean and very comfortable. We had breakfast each morning and it was great for the price - also it was served from 7 am till noon. We ate on the terrace each morning. Wi-fi was excellent - we also used their own computer to print off boarding passes so they attended to all our needs.
Very convenient location - only 10 minutes walk to centre. Aix is such a beautiful place - really enjoyed.

Room Tip: If you want a large room - choose one with bath and shower - we had room with just shower - its stil...

I had a group of 16 painters staying here for 8 days and really based my decision to come here on the reviews I read on tripadvisor. First of all the staff has been great. Attentive, responsive all the time. Yves was our friend and everyone enjoyed him and the work he did. Then there is Anne and Lea and Astrik and some others. Yes, rooms are small but clean, well maintained, and air conditioned. Loved that air conditioning because the temperature was about 90 for our whole stay. If you want a larger room you should reserve one with a bath as well as shower. it's a little more expensive. the balconies are larger in those rooms and tiny in the others as mentioned but we were out all the time so it really didn't matter to us. We had some great picnics outside along the side of the hotel and even had a sing a long there one night.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back here. I've been bringing groups of artists to France to paint since 1993 and this is as happy with the lodging as I've been. Pretty darn good for a 2 star hotel. Just to clarify the walking distance to the Cours Mirabeau - I would say that it's 15 minutes at an average pace, but only a tad under 10 minutes to get to the beginning of Rue d'Italie. That leads into Mirabeau and has some great wine and cheese shops, small supermarkets and other specialty shops.

One last thing: WiFi--- it can be spotty. I was on the 1st floor (one flight up) and had no problems connecting with my laptop. But my partner who had an Ipad had spotty service. I suspect that the wireless card in the Ipad is not as substantial as the wireless cards in laptops.

Spent two nights in early September 2012. Really warm weather in Aix but luckily hotel rooms here have air condition. Got a tiny room on the third floor (304 I think) which just had enough room for a bed, a small fridge with a tv on top, a bench for suitcases and not much more. Luckily the room came with a nice balcony which made it feel bigger. Bath room is also small but not claustrophobic. This is a very basic and simple hotel and slightly worn but the staff is very helpful, the wifi is good and the location is not bad with 10 minutes walk into the old part of Aix.

I have been there just for one night, the room was comfortable and clean; the reception is open until midnigth and it's very convenient if you have some "trip accidents". Le Mozart is closed to the city center and it's possible to reach it by feet. The only fault is that I would prefer breakfast and parking included in the room rate: I had to park in the inside garage (7,5 € cost) because the outside free parking was busy.

We only stayed for 1 night in Le Mozart but it was a great little hotel, friendly staff, a very clean and comfortable room with temperature control (a big plus in 40 degree heat). Beware of the blackout blinds, we almost slept all day!

Nothing outstanding, 20 min walk into Aix-en-Provence city centre.

Would stay again, a great hotel for the price.

The hotel was clean and staff were pleasant, but our room was tiny - by far the smallest we had on a 17 day trip to Southern France and Spain. Could barely walk around the bed, there was a balcony you could hardly stand on it was so small and looked over a parking lot next door. There was no room/storage space to unpack anything and the shower stall was so small, I hit my head when trying to pick up the soap I dropped. I'm about 5'4" and can imagine that larger people would have a real problem with the shower. The breakfast was very nice and wait staff pleasant. The hotel is quiet, but it's quite a hike to the Cours Mirabeau where most of the restaurants, shops, museums, etc. are - and it can be a pretty deserted walk back if you return late at night. We had a small car and the parking lot out front can be a challenge, as it's on a hill and very cramped.

Room Tip: There must be larger rooms than the one we were given, so just be diligent about booking one of thei...
