Being advised to visit the (5* hotel) restaurant our expectations were high.
These were far from met. The starters were served before we finished our aperitives. The asparagus was not stripped well and not cooked properly. Left half of it. The langoustines were ok, but only tiny three of them worked out to be a poor dish.
We selected a glass of one of the open wines, but being run out, were served an alternative.
Again the speed of serving the dishes surprised us again: the main course was served almost immediately and before we even had finished our glass of white wine. For the main course (lamb chops) we selected a Mercurey. But still having our ‘starter’ wines a complaint to the waiter resulted merely ‘skip the red wine, and have the white with the meat’.
As compensation we got a small glass of Champaign as desert (which we had to order in front with the other courses). This was weird since we selected an Armagnac for the desert.
The lamb chops (only three again) had more fat than meat and, as the side dish vegetables, were poorly cooked.
The prices were at 5*-level, the food didn’t meet the suggested quality by far.
Overall we left with a rather ‘unwelcome’ feeling, the worst experience since long.
