This is my second trip to Aix en Provence in six months. I was here for six days in September and ten days this trip. To date, my favorite dinner restaurant is Vintripide, the food, the service and the ambience are great. The space is small, the noise level made conversation easy, the chairs and tables are spaced beautifully, everything is perfect and very comfortable. Our server, one of the owners, was quite charming and gave good advice about the food and wine. We were fortunate enough to sit at the table with "Bill" their tiny fish who has been there since they opened a year ago.

Yes, it isn't free, but great service, comfortable ambiance, and really good food, make me happy to pay for it. Four foodies enjoyed everything they had to offer. We booked a table for next week when we will have a party of six.

A cosy French restaurant managed by the onwers. One is a great Sommeliere who made a wonderful "Wine list" and the other is the Chef who changes the menu options every two weeks in order to always cook with "local seasonal ingredients". The prices are honest, too!

Absolutely zero criticism of the food: it was surprising, delicious, original and refined, and with decent-sized servings. Very helpful and friendly waiter, too. The "but" is the price: very expensive and no set menu offered, only à la carte. The setting is also very ordinary. If the owners redecorated their restaurant and brought the prices down, they would be nearing perfection.

We had dinner at Vintrepide on Saturday Night. I chose 2 appetizers. The fois gras at 16€ for a tiny slice of fois gras (2 bites) was exorbitant in my opinion!! I then had Cailettes which was described as a warm terrine of pork and v,eal. In actuality, it was 3 tiny, unappealing meatballs with the addition of liver mixed. It was served on toast with an onion confit. I ate the toast and confit and left the meatballs. My husband chose the fish course. For 18€ he got a tiny piece of fish with 6 asparagus. To fill the plate, they cut the asparagus so the tips were on one side of the fish and the bottom ends on the other side of the fish (presented a full dish of food). the atmosphere was not very elegant. No table cloth or decorative mat under the utensils, just the cold wooden table. There are many better restaurants in Aix for the price.

this restaurant offers you a perfect blend of everything. Good variety of tastes, handwritten menu (translated on demand into english), nice choices of - in between - aperitifs (for free) and great wines. Very pleasant waiter. Highly recommended.
Again, as someone already mentioned: the dinner we had, was at least as good as we had at a michelin-star restaurant, but here it was less expensive and probably with a higher overall satisfaction!
