Hidden away in a small residential square, away from the hustle and bustle. Only a few tables, a chef and a waiter. Both very helpful and the waiter was very entertaining to boot.
The food was really excellent, imaginative, well presented and delicious. There is also a 3-course set menu (I think it was 29 or 32 euros).

We were recommended this restaurant by a tour guide (Yanicke from Discover Provence) and what a memorable meal. The small restaurant is set off the main tourist path and shares an adjacent courtyard containing one of Aix's many fountains with another nearby restaurant. The young staff were very attentive and speak English which is a help for those like us with just a rudimentary grasp of the local language. We could not speak highly enough of the food - we both had the mussel soup (a creamy, salty saffron-infused soup served in a quirky bowl) for €10 to start followed by prawn risotto and a superb chicken dish (with the best sauce I have ever tasted) at €20 each. The chicken dish bears the name of the restaurant and I can see why - it is the ultimate signature dish and was the best individual dish I have tasted in four visits to France. Our total bill with wine and a cocktail came to €86. We could not recommend this restaurant highly enough if visiting Aix.

Aix-en Provence. Great experince, location & excellent suggested by the waiter who was also the owner. Julien spoke great English & suggested the fish of the day which was light, fresh & full of flavour. We enjoyed our long lunch away from the hustle & bustle of the touristy area. A must when visiting Aix.

If I had only one night in Aix I would say go to L'incontrouble. The food was so good - everything we ordered was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The setting was lovely and the price was reasonable. It is hard to find so leave some extra time to get there.

Someone recommended this restaurant to us and we're glad we checked it out. The restaurant is owned by two hardworking guys and you can tell from their food and service that they strive for perfection. Julian was a very hands-on kind of guy, friendly, spoke very good English, and somewhat funny. My husband and I had one of each of the set meal selections. We found the cuisine was a modern fusion of French, Italian and Asian. Compared to other restaurants along Cour Mirabeau, their 3-course meal was well priced at 29€. We were happy to have dined here and we're passing on the recommendation that this restaurant should be a 'must-try'.
