Had a very good time here, it's tucked in a narrow pedestrian cobbled street, tables close to each other but didn't feel claustrophobic. The amusing and smiling waiter explained the menu in detail, and the food was delicious. The passage is quite busy as well, so ideal for people-watching too.

Not busy when we went but according to TA need to book which we did. Waiter very helpful and attentive. Menu in French but he explained well. My duck served on unusual skewer with delicious honey sauce and potatoes on side. Son declared fillet steak beautiful and husband's seafood linguine a big tick. Too full for dessert but those we saw looked great. Wine recommended was great.

I found that most of the restaurants in this neighborhood are higher priced than they should be and very touristy but what else can you expect since that is what the neighborhood is. That being the case, this was our best meal in this neighborhood. Our waiter could not have been nicer and helped us through the menu and wine list.

This restaurant was recommended by a concierge in the hotel who recommended an outstanding one the night before. We read the wonderful reviews on trip advisors but found this to be the worst meal of our trip. The waiters were ok did not know the wine list. Both of our dishes - specials of the day - were recommended by the waiters but were mediocre at best. Our suggestion - go somewhere else for a good meal.

We ate here tonight. This is our third evening in Aix, and our 13th in France (on this trip). We had a very fine experience. We didn't make a reservation because we were traveling to Avignon today and didn't know when we'd be back. We got there around 8PM. The host asked us if we'd made reservations and I thought we'd be looking for another spot for dinner. But he was able to accommodate us outside, where we preferred.

Our dinner could not have been better, except for serving sizes. We split a lovely entrée (the French term for appetizer, the "entry" into the meal), with smoked salmon, grilled eggplant and goat cheese on a crisp lettuce salad with tomatoes and other good stuff. Even splitting, we couldn't eat it all.

And then our main courses? Hubbie had the grilled lamb, perfectly rosy medium rare with a tasty sauce, sautéed potatoes and a small salad. My main course could have fed both of us: rouget (a lovely fish) filets with big ole gambas on top, with potatoes and a sauce so tasty that the platter came with a spoon for scooping up the last of it. Too bad the French don't offer to-go containers!

With a bottle of excellent rosé wine our bill was something around 80 E, and in the two weeks we've been in France, that was about the best meal to cost ratio we've had.
