Sunny day and the garden was delightful. Staff in house were very pleasant. It is closed between 12.30 and 1.30 each day. Exhibit is simply about Picasso and Villiers a photographer and their relationship. A so, so exhibit. It had an english audio guide which was good. Building was interesting.

A small pavilion which unfortunately was not well preserved in time in terms of the interior and in all honesty, did not offer much. There was a small exposition of Picasso’s art (photographs and cutouts) but all in all - one could not spend more than 15mins.

The Pavillon is in itself a wonderful thing to see, but an even better part of it are the gardens you enter first coming onto the grounds. Surrounded by a wall and neighboring houses, the setting is perfect for a picnic with items from the weekend markets. A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and maybe some cheese and saucisson, shared with a special person make for a very special day.

These lovely traditional formal gardens were on the route from our hotel to the centre of Aix, so we stopped off a couple of times. There are lots of benches to sit on, and it's a nice tranquil spot.
