We loved the garden of this beautiful house. It was thoughtfully laid out with areas for children and for dogs. Such a contrast to the crowded streets of the old town.
However, the interior was totally spoiled by an exhibition of some of the ugliest modern art you are ever likely to see. The juxtaposing of exquisite interiors and antique furniture with hideous installations resembling a slaughter-house was probably as disturbing as the young woman responsible meant it to be. In one room the room steward had to tell everyone not to walk on the carpet as it wasn't actually a carpet but part of the exhibit. That was what it was like.
