We stayed here for 3 nights in September and we were extremely happy. A modern hotel built on the site of the old Roman baths. Rooms were clean and large and very well equipped. Location was not central but perfect. Everything is just a short walk away. Nearby is a medieval sqaure with numerous fabulous restaurants. Excellent parking very close at a reasonable charge. The gym and wellness facilities are top class though the hot springs were disappointing (a tepid water jacuzzi). Note that kids can use the outdoor swimming pool but not the gym and spa and jacuzzi. Breakfast was very good. All fresh and plentiful and quickly replenished in a lovely setting.

Room Tip: The top floor has the deluxe rooms and are worth the extra money.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights in July. When we arrived out room wasn't ready so they immediately upgraded us to a superior room with a beautiful view across the roves of Aix.The room was spacious and clean. Parking was easy, very near to the hotel and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was expensive for what it was, though this was not a problem as there are so many lovely cafés nearby. The hotel is expensive, though in my opinion it is worth it and I would definitely stay there again.

When we were lost in Aix en Provence, we called for directions and they were very helpful. When we got there, we were very pleased with our room, the hotel, and pool, and the friendliness of the staff. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in Aix again.

We debated a higher-end hotel on the outskirts of town but decided on this one given its location and the spa on-site. It was really enjoyable.

Location -- really great. Only a couple of blocks from several main squares with tons of neat restaurants. Short walk to the street with vendors near the main traffic circle. Felt perfectly safe.

The room -- was not "fancy", but it was really quite newly furnished and very very clean. I've seen one review saying the furniture was beaten up. They posted a photo of a chair with a distressed arm. That finish is intentional. It's Provencal; like our whitewash and antiqued furniture here! Bathroom was modern, new tiles, super clean. Enough storage for all our stuff, including a large turtle pool float for our son. They provided a roll-away crib for free for our son, and they had a babysitting service they worked with so we were able to get out a couple of nights and go to the spa on our own. This wasn't the fanciest room we've stayed in, but it was really ideal with our son -- very clean, and I not a lot of stuff that it looked like he could hurt. Bed was very comfortable.

Pool -- is excellent. It's great right next to the old city ramparts. It was a bit crowded, but there was still no issue getting lounge chairs. The shallow end is almost shallow enough for a sunning ledge, and a lot of people were using it this way. Water was warm, but cool enough to be refreshing. Not sure if it was heated.

Breakfast -- in the main dining room was loaded with options. Traditional US fare all the way to German-style muesli. Egss, bacon, sausages, cheeses, cold cuts, baked goods, hot milk, fresh juices, 4 varieties (not flavors) of yogurt. Our room price included breakfast so I'm not sure how much it usually is, but it was huge. And they were super nice letting us take an extra pain au chocolat and yogurt for our son for later in the day.

Dinner -- we ate at the restaurant one night, and it was fine. We had a tasting menu. It was a pretty good deal, but it wasn't the best meal we had while we were there. Might be because we were a little tired and the service took a long time (they seemed short handed).

Outdoor seating for breakfast and dinner was really nice.

Spa -- this is why a lot of people stay at this hotel. It's a really nice spa with lots of options. I would recommend it for the experience. That said, a lot of the "treatments" were machine-based instead of by a person. Such as, hydrotherapy was just sitting in a tub with special jets for 20 minutes. Nice, but not the same as a massage. Chromotherapy was a steam room with lights changing color. The salt scrub, mud wrap, and massage of course were done by a person, and they were great. Would recommend a visit. Very nice facilities, but in a European style, not US plush spa.

Room Tip: We asked for one with a view over the rooftops, and it was quite nice. We were on the top floor.

Merci bien, very good generally. Really only one gripe, staff do not enforce the no smoking at breakfast. The overall standard was impressive and staff tolerated bad french with good grace and were multilingual.

Stayed here for four nights in August and were really surprised at the excellent value. It is listed as 3 star but we couldn't fault it. The rooms were air conditioned and very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful (and mostly spoke English even though we tried our French!). The garden and pool were beautiful and we ate in the restaurant for three nights and sat on the terrace. We would thoroughly recommend the restaurant and each night went for a set menu of two or three courses for 20.50 euros for two courses and 26 euros for three. The food was excellent and the drinks were also very reasonable. Would thoroughly recommend the Aquabella Hotel.

We took the Eurostar to Lille, then the TGV down to Aix en Provence. The cab fare from the station to the hotel was 40 euro including the tip. After reading some unfavorable reviews about the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to find none applied to our own experience. There was four of us, and we all agreed a better 3 star hotel would be hard to find. We ate al fresco in the Hotels Orangie most evenings, and thought the food served was delicious and moderate in price. All the staff in the restaurant and bar were extremely friendly which only added to the overall ambience of this hotel. So no complaints from any of us, loved it.
