Despite the very friendly service, I'm afraid to say that this restaurant's food was mediocre. All four of us went for the 17 euro menu and each got something different which we shared. The entrées were pretty good (particularly the supions, basically calamari), but the mains left something to be desired. All had the same accompaniments (runner beans, one cherry tomato and half a spoon of mashed potato) but with different meats: I had the sardines which were not cooked enough for the bones to be unnoticeable (thus making it quite painful to eat!) The desserts were the best parts particularly the triple chocolate cake and the creme de calissons (if you have a very sweet tooth). For the price it'd probably be worth going elsewhere like le tire bouchon (full menu for 20 euros, excellent food) just a little further towards town.

Delicous preparatons. The squid salad was excellent and the fish dish was fresh and tasty, very well prepared. The service was friendly and helpful in getting good advice on the menu items. Visited this for a lunch on a cold day and had a wonderful time in this charming restaurant.

We went there for dinner and loved the place. It a cosy one, not posh but feels real and homy. There is only one waiter so don't go there in a rush, just enjoy your time and the food. There is a fixed menu for 15€, three or four dishes to choose. For us the amount of food was perfect for dinner, but could be not enough for people used to big dinners. Check the timetable before going because they have reduced opening times.

Amazing how just one chef and one waiter can manage to provide such great food at such good value (€15 for 3 courses even during the evening)

Just off the cours mirabeau this restuarant is discretely hidden down a side street and had by the far the best value food we could find anywhere in the centre of the city. It was 15 euros for a three course set menu, with supplements of about 2 or 3 euros if you wanted the more expensive dishes like lobster or scallops. The wine was a bit more expensive than other places but it still comes to about 50 euros for a meal for two. The meal itself was delicious, the chef homemaking most of the things which i think accounted for the limited scope of the menu. There was only waiter but he was extremely friendly and capable, the restaurant was quaint and felt authentically french. The whole experience was awesome, definitely worth the money and the visit if you get tired of the overly expensive cours mirabeau restaurants.
