…you will walk a further ten minute up a steep hill from visiting his atelier, to stand on the very spot (happily preserved by the wise people of Aix) where he stood day after day, painting, time and again, the view of Mont St Victoire: pretty much exactly the same today as he rendered it, in some of his most majestic works, more than 100 years ago.

To miss this viewing site would be truly tragic and would necessitate another trip to Aix. The view of the mountain is incredible and one can see why Cézanne loved this mountain and Aix. Only problem I see is where to park your car? Solution: don't bring one, walk in from Aix. It is only a 20 minute walk from Aix to Cezanne's house and then another 10 minute walk to this vista. The walk there is all uphill, so be prepared to huff and puff (just a little)' but the walk back into town is quick. A must see while in Aix.

Again, you do not want to miss this Park. The walk is not that easy but when you find it, it is quite an experience !

As long as you realize what it is, it's nice. If you're a Cezanne fan, or a fan of the Mt. Ste Victoire, it's a must. If you're there on a lovely spring day with absolutley nothing to do and you want an excuse to be outside, it's perfect.

We walked up from the atelier Cezanne and found the steps on the same side of the street without much trouble. Didn't expect such a spectacular view of the mountain - well worth the walk from Aix.
