The museum is situated in a light and spacious new building next to an old church. It is a pity that this enormous buiding is used so inefficient. A new exebitions has to be made, but in Aix en Provence you expect at least some paintings of Cezanne in the town museum.
50% of the space was used to show video pictures of not very defined vage structures. What a pitý.
Not worth the visit.

Not exactly worth a visit, but if you need to kill an hour or so and feel like looking at the ruins of Entremont, a few paintings, or some sculptures, hop on over to the Musée Granet.

We went back several times to finally find it open on Sunday afternoon. Diverse collection, at least it's not all religious art. Sculptures in the basement are definately worth a look.

And that is when I'd recommend going. It houses several of Cezanne's early works, 1 Van Gogh, 9 Picasso, 1 Rembrandt self portrait, 1 Monet, 1 Rothko, and an exhibition of Greman expressionists :(

This museum has been - and is - the repository of donations through the ages and so it has an eclectic collection.
There is a wonderful self-portrait by Rembrandt, a lovely portrait of Madame Cézanne by her husband and an interesting basement gallery of finds from Entremont. Temporary Exhibitions vary in quality.
