“Wonderful family stay!”
Reviewed August 1, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We rented all 3 gites for a week with our extensive family -- 3 couples and 15 grandchildren. It was terrific! The children, age 5 - 18, loved the swimming pool, tennis court, ping pong table, trampoline and the huge living room at La Grange. It easily accommodated 27 for dinner!
Deb and Alec are fantastic, responsive and helpful. Chef Steven Borishansky, recommended by Deb, provided more than a meal -- we had a gourmet dining experience for adults and children. Jill Sublet made a marvelous welcome dinner for our first night.
Everyone enjoyed trips to Les Baux, Cassis, Arles, Gordes, Rousillon etc etc.
Deb made reservations for my husband and me at La Cloiserie for a great Michelin star meal. All of her recommendations were fantastic.
A clothes dryer is an American amenity that would have been helpful, but that is the only suggestion we might have!
The location is convenient to shopping and motorways, but feels like a rural retreat.

“Exceptional property”

In early May, my husband & I had the pleasure of staying at La Loubiere. What a delightful place it was. Our stay was the perfect balance between old world charm and modern conveniences. The kitchen is well equipped. We were able to prepare breakfast each morning & dinner each evening and enjoy our meals outside on the lovely patio, weather permitting. We especially enjoyed shopping at the many open air food markets that were located close to our lodging. The bathroom is large & modern.

Alex & Deb were gracious hosts. They were helpful when local information was needed. The location of La Loubiere is perfect for exploring Le Petit Luberon due to its central location. If visiting the large cities in Provence appeals to you, Aix is only a short 20 minute drive and Avignon, Arles & St. Remy are also about an hour away.
We have visited the area of Provence many times, but my husband & I agree that staying at La Loubiere was by far the most enjoyable visit. We recommend it without hesitation and hope to return soon.

“Amazing, relaxing, fantastic here's why”
Reviewed June 18, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

It's been almost a year since we went. We still talk about it and dream about it. Picturesque, quiet, and everything you want as a home base in Provence. We planned day trips to Aix, Lourmarin, Bonnieux, and as far as Cassis. The owners were fanatstic and knowledgable. They new all the best local spots, and helped us out for lunch reservation at a Michelin star restaurant nearby. I bought an antique bell that now serves as our doorbell.

We stayed at the small coach house and appreciated no tv or distractions. It's good to unplug a little. Markets were easy to find and you can be as busy or lazy as you want.

We met new friends from home in Canada and Germany. Such a memorable trip. The pool, the heat, my son and daughter running and playing soccer with their new German friends. We still meet up with our France club friends regularly in Toronto. An experience for us to recall and hope for the next time we come.

Thank you.

Jonathan and Liz Beggs

“Cozy place in an enchanting countryside setting”

We stayed at "Les Platanes," which is a detached property adjacent to the main chateau. The little house was very cozy and had everything we needed (we were four adults and a small child). The common grounds were amazing! My child enjoyed playing in the swings and the trampoline, as well as looking at the nearby horses. The pool water was too cold for us, so we did not try the pool. My family enjoyed playing tennis, having BBQs, and just relaxing in the nice warm weather outside. The owners are very friendly and will make sure you have everything you need. I will only suggest that a wifi range extender be installed in the house because there was not internet connection inside the house. Otherwise, I give this property two thumbs up.

“The perfect getaway”

My girlfriend and I stayed at La Loubiere for a week early June 2013. I cannot rate our stay high enough. The weather that time of year mainly warm and sunny, with one wet day (which was refreshing!)

La Loubiere is perfectly situated, with the balance of seclusion and accessibility, to the local town Pertius (2 mins), and Aix-en-Provence (20 mins) also day trips in mind with Cassis and Avignon for example all within reach. There is also a string of picturesque towns with markets, and historic sites, namely Lourmarian, Bonnieux etc (also a highly recommended drive on the twisty roads of D943!)

The grounds with swimming pool and tennis court are also ample and perfect for spending a few quiet days to ‘kick back’ with facilities creating a ‘home from home’ atmosphere. Alec & Deb were very welcoming and helpful with great knowledge of the local area. They respected our privacy but were always available when we required anything.

Cannot recommend La Loubiere enough!

“Authentic country house setting”

Immensely enjoyed the quiet and ambiance of the French country setting. We stayed in the two story Les Platanes. We had leisurely breakfasts we made in the kitchen but otherwise ate in Aix-en-Provence. The shutters and windows were open into a lovely setting. The interior of stone and the unlevel floor on the second level increased the authenticity of the cottage feel. However, we had a modern kitchen and bathroom!

Liked best: The stone walls of the cottage.
Liked least: Drive out to the country. But how can you have the quiet without the drive?
