My friend took me here for a special lunch. She chose it as she had read and heard many positive things about it. It's situated below street level in a beautiful old building. A lovely setting. Service from the outset was slow, bordering on indifferent. I'm not sure why, as it wasn't busy. We ordered a carafe of rose wine, and got red. When we questioned this, we were told that it was in fact rose. It was OK, if a bit rough, and had grape skins in it. The meal was bordering on Fast Food, and was expensive. We realised later that the listed price was probably for two courses, and we had dessert as well. However, no-one mentioned this to us. When we paid, the staff were very warm and friendly, but it was almost too late to redeem things by then. However, I'll be back in Poitiers no doubt, and would be prepared to give it another try.
