Chambres d'Hotes de Champ Fleuri
Ranked #10 of 20 Hotels in Angouleme

This is a "I must stay here hotel" if you are in the area. With an unrestricted view of Angouleme,
in the middle of the golf course (five minute walk from the first tee) golfers paradise, swimming pool in spacious garden and secure parking what else do you want?
Bedrooms spotless, breakfast superb. I would consider this to be one of the best B&B my
wife and I have stayed in for many a year. Unfortunately we were there for only one night but hope to return soon
Barbara and Xavier are superb hosts. Informative and pleased to assist with any inquiries
My limited french was not really necessary as they speak perfect English.

Unfortunately directions to house not easy due to new road way Best way is to follow signs to golf course and you are there

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking Angouleme called chambre Rempart

Lovely place- highly recommended- charming hostess- lovely rooms, great view- a treat- only issue is that it is a little hard to find but wonderfull and would come back again in a hearbeat. hostess also recommended a lovely restuarant in town for dinner- could not have asked for more. We stayed at Champ Fleuri for 3 nights in August for a nearby wedding.

The B&B was amazing and the hosts very welcoming. We had booked all five rooms, so it really felt like we had our own villa. The rooms are very French, spacious and airy, the pool is lovely and the views of Angouleme are beautiful.

The breakfast was very nice and we always felt welcome by the hosts, who went out of their way to make our stay special.

The only downside was that we had to get taxis to the town every night for dinner, which were quite expensive (15 euros one way).

I would definitely come back to stay at Champ Fleuri and would recommend it for anyone going to stay in the area.

Room Tip: We had the ground floor room, which was very pretty.

We have stopped a few times in the Mercure previously and decided to give the Champ Fleuri a try for two nights in February of this year. The rooms are beautifully decorated and contained within the older part of the property. The hosts, Barbara and Xavier are very welcoming, Barbara speaking good English but also tolerant of our patchy French. The breakfast room is shared with other guests and is a great way to meet and exchange views, experiences. The view from the house of the old town on the plateau must be one of the best in Angouleme.
You will need a car to get into Angouleme but it is only a 5 minute drive away.
We found it a little tricky to locate at first but google maps locates it pretty well.

All in all a very civilsed experience compared to the usual chain hotel fare.

we stayed in this property in one of the 5 rooms on offer the owners were very friendly, had a lovely property with magnificent views breakfast was included, only downside it was winter we stayed there so we could view properties in the area, but sure it would have been much better in the summer, as it had a swimming pool and lovely grounds, but we only really had our bedroom because of the time of year, and TV did not have any English channels for us to watch and there was no lounge to sit in, so got a bit bored, but was very reasonably priced and had some lovely walks into Angouleme
would recommend i it was summer

The hosts here are lovely and she speaks English well. There is a great view of the city from the garden and a nice looking pool (although it was too cold when we were there). The only potential downside is if you want to explore the town you need to drive in as is it is too far to walk, but if you're not doing that then it's a lovely place to chill out.

We reserved for one night and stayed for two. This is a wonderful B&B minutes from the old heart of Angoulême. Barbara and Xavier have been there for five years - I don't know what they started with, but the result is a well furbished, quaint, peaceful retreat. While the rooms are very well appointed, this is a Maison d'hôte and not a hotel, so don't expect small amenities like shampoo and shoe-shine! Breakfast, weather-permitting, is plentiful and served outdoors under the trees or on their terrace. The regular breakfast room has a fridge, freezer and microwave for guests to share. It is a very kid-friendly location with tons of running room on their spacious estate and a slide and swing. The pool is not heated, which, quite frankly, is quite refreshing on a late July afternoon! Signage is almost non existent, so follow indications for GOLF. We look forward to going back, perhaps without the kids!
