I don't think I can express in words what a lovely experience it is to stay here. Had a really helpful transfer from Tagbilaran by January (driver with Amun Ini) who kindly stopped at Chocolate Hills and Tarsier Sanctuary on the way to Amun Ini, and told me a little about the earthquake.

Then, the sliding wooden doors to Amun Ini open, and welcomed by 4 beaming smiles (5 including the dogs), a wet towel and welcome drink and a chorus of 'Welcome Home'. The hospitality here is 2nd to none, and they really do make you feel like you're at home.

The resort itself is a little piece of heaven, small, secluded, immaculate. The pool is divine and the secluded beach is amazing..I felt like Robinson Crusoe washed on a desert island.

I was interested to know a little Scuba but didn't have much time there, but 'Biggs' extremely kindly spent two hours in the pool with me showing me the basics, it was such a great experience and she is a fantastic teacher.

The rooms are cosy and private and on to the food...mmmmmm, what to say. The food is some of the nicest I've eaten, anywhere. Every meal had me letting out 'mmmms' with mouthfuls of food. Really, top notch food. The resort still feels small (i think they're expanding a little) and I think this is part of the charm.

Bit disappointed not to meet the owner, Fred.. but hopefully another time.

I really can't praise Amun Ini enough and if you're spending any time in Bohol, you won't be disappointed to stay here.

We stayed at Amun Ini from Nov.14th-22nd and had a wonderful time there! The resort lies secluded in a pretty cove with a beautiful white beach and clear blue water. For those who prefer sweet water, there is a gorgeous infinity pool just opposite the restaurant where you can have a cool drink or buko juice (fresh coconut picked from one of the surrounding trees). The food is absolutely delicious,we must have tried about everything on the menu and were never disappointed.I have never had a better Cappucino anywhere so far!!Service is very attentive and the whole staff are so friendly.
One of the main reasons we also came to Amun Ini was for the diving. Everything is well organized, gear is in top shape, the dive shop very conveniently located by the beach. A comfortable boat takes you to different beautiful dive sites not far away from the resort. Our divemasters Gabi and Lito were very professional but lots of fun as well. Many thanks to Fred, Karin and the whole staff - we had a most relaxing and fun vacation with you!
Inspite of arriving just a few days after the disastrous typhoon in the Philippines, we hardly noticed anything at all. Thanks to a generator at the resort, we were very comfortable with air conditioned rooms. In the meantime everything is back to normal, electricity and wi-fi working again. We will be back again!!

We ended up getting some information from the internet and our contact driver mentioned about this resort. We did not stay here but did like to take a try of their menu. We are all Filipinos and dismayed that we can't picked nice order that we knew of. Sad to say, They cater mostly to foreign tourists (with regard to food variety). Most of the dishes are European. The serving was okay. The staff were attentive. It was a plus. The shake was another plus too. My friends liked the buko shake.

May come back with foreigner friends only if they enjoyed traveling 2 hour or so riding in a van. Other resorts in Anda may offer quiet and good ambiance as long as you can take the 2-hour traveling time from Tagbilaran airport or seaport. The road to Anda is not a problem.

Awesome place and I will always be grateful to my wife to find this gem of a resort. The staff are so welcoming and pleasant and despite the hardships they have suffered due to the recent earthquake, there was little or no feeling of that.

The travel to the resort was long (2 hrs approx.) but the resort was worth the drive. From the moment of entry the staff made an impression and was clear that this resort was different from others. The owner himself was there (Fred) and ensured he welcome us and give us a run down of the situation.

Though the resort ran on generator power, we did not feel any inconvenience because of it and we are glad we decided to push through with our trip.

The resort is well maintained and the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Excellent view from the balcony and the resorts grounds are well kept as well.

The food is good and despite us being picky eaters, we were accommodated really well and the chef took the time to understand what we need and ensure we get it.

I strongly recommend if you can make time or are considering to visit Bohol to do so and consider Amun Ini in your plans.

From the moment we arrived and the doors slid open to be greeted by beaming smiles, to the paddle boarding, the snorkelling, the relaxing on the pristine beach, the massages, exploring underground lakes in caves, the delicious food or just hanging out in the pool, every moment at Amun Ini is a moment to savour.

The staff are super friendly; Angie, Pedro, Kristine, Jim and January and many more, thank you :-).

And the owners Fred and Karen go out of their way to ensure you have an amazing stay and feel amongst friends.

Can't wait to go back to paradise.

Having just returned from a trip to the Philippines and getting the chance to spend a couple of nights at Amun Ini, I can report that Fred and Karin, the owners of the resort and spa, have created a little bit of paradise that feels like home almost immediately. We were greeted by the wonderful couple at the main entrance, a very impressive and welcoming portico leading into the roofed but open-walled restaurant and bar. The view from there is nothing less than gorgeous, over their large, round, infinity-edged pool out to their white sand beach and the azure ocean beyond.

This is really the start of a wonderful resort with just a few rooms--with plans to add a few more--that will remain small, comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff is excellent, the food is excellent and the location is, well, without equal in the area. Running up and down the coast between dive sites (with Gabi, a great dive guide and truly fun guy), we saw no other beaches or access points that even come close to the property at Amun Ini. When the real estate folks talk about "location, location, location," this could be the perfect example.

With the dive shop right on the beach, a beach bar and grill right next to that and some of the finest coral in the Philippines just offshore, you can spend the day down there or head up to the pool and spa for some serious spoiling. Gabi will happily show you the 30-foot "mini wall" just out from the beach and then take you past that to the 100-foot wall that runs along the shore for, well, I really don't know how far. The coral is unspoiled and plentiful, supporting many healthy fish and other marine life. The diving is gorgeous.

Rooms are very interesting, with the option to leave the blinds on the huge bathroom suite window open or close them for privacy; you can always have a view over your private deck to the ocean below from anywhere in your suite. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are immaculately cared for. Our room featured a mini bar and couch, along with a handsome wardrobe for the few clothes you really need there. I'm assuming they all have the same amenities. Oh, and instant hot water heaters for the showers and bathrooms. Pretty nice touch.

But like any fine resort, it's the people who make things work. Designed by the owners, the resort is especially private, very serene and immediately relaxing. The staff is genuinely friendly--as one expects in the Philippines--and truly dedicated to making sure you enjoy your stay. They could write the book on hospitality.

Bohol boasts a myriad amount of land-based adventures along with great diving and all can be quickly accessed and enjoyed from the resort. You could easily lose track of time and spend weeks at Amun Ini...and be perfectly happy.

Room Tip: They're all good. Don't worry about it.

Having been to a number of ressorts in the Philippines, this one has been the best hospitality experience so far. In a quiet corner of Bohol, the owners have put me together a boutique experience for people with high expectations in terms of layout, service and food.

There are only a few rooms at Amun Ini and the touch is personal. The rooms are extremely tastefully decorated with attention to detail. There is a pool with a view, but above all a small, beautiful, private beach with shaded areas for relaxing in armchairs and a float that you can swim out to. The beach is ideal for a cool drink as you watch the sun go down behind one of the small "resort islands". One of my highlights for me was sharing a bottle of wine and good conversation with the owners who had specially put a table on the beach to create this sundowner memory.

It is a relaxing place, but there are activities of course, the reef invites discovery for both diving and snorkeling and there is kayaking and the very amusing paddle boarding. Film your better half as they try and balance and paddle!

Amun Ini will appeal to anyone looking for a quieter experience in an unspoilt stretch of paradise with top notch and thoughtful service that is hard to find in the Philippines. Good for a "second honeymoon" experience but also for families that love being out in the sea and on the beach.
