We recently stayed here for the second year running. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, and a really good restaurant- we ate in three nights running and the food and wine were excellent.
The big mystery is why people stay at the hotel but choose to eat elsewhere, as they are really missing out.

We have stayed here several times in the last few years, twice this year already. We travel frequently in a vintage vehicle and the garage is ideal. The rooms are quirky and individual, and the restaurant is excellent. The owner and his staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The town of Laon is fascinating and a walk around it is a must.

Found ourselves booking in at this hotel on a Sunday after our car unfortunately broke down on the motorway on our return back to the UK. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, making phone calls to the garage for us and sending and receiving emails/fax in order to help us get the car repaired as soon as possible. This charming hotel is well situated at walking distance from restaurants, Laon's Cathedral and City Wall.

On the positive side, this is a quirky little hotel in a great location in a beautiful city and the staff were really friendly. On the (extremely negative) side, the dinner in the hotel restaurant was not only the worst meal of our French holiday by some stretch, but some courses (my 'potage') were inedible. I did complain and was told that 'cabbage' may have tainted the flavour (since when did cabbage soup appear on a French menu in August?). I could see a rather chic woman gesticulating at the other end of the room in the international language of complaint (lots of waiter shoulder shrugging) so I don't think we were the only ones. When the TV conked out, a member of staff came up and gave the wall a practised slap to get it going again. That's more amusing (and forgivable) than terrible food, however charming the service.

Arrived here en route to Calais, having spent the week near Lyon. A lovely, rather quirky, hotel. We were given a lovely welcome, cases carried upstairs to our rooms, and offered any help we needed. We ate out, but the restaurant and menu looked excellent. Easy checkout in the morning, and our cases carried downstairs.
A lovely, restful stay, and would recommend the hotel to anyone!
