Very nice and charming setting, with medieval decor. Chose the restaurant without any prior knowledge while passing through Saumur. With two kids, we hoped for a somewhat quick service, but that was not to be. After being seated in the almost full dining room, we neither saw any waiters nor get menus. Most of the guests had not been served. It took about 15 minutes before people at another table got up and left, and then all of a sudden the waiter seemed to "wake up" and realize he had work to do. After that, service was friendly and professional, but everything took a while because of the backlog... What saved us was that the waiter managed to get the food for the kids out quickly, and that the restaurant keeps a box of toys and childrens books that occupied them. We had classic fare like Coq au vin and local wine, it was all quite good. After the meal, we took a 5-minute stroll up the hill to the Saumur castle to look at the view, so the location is great.
