“Lovely Hotel.”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stayed for one night in April, in the family suite. Though the accomodation is not central, we never found it inconvenient or out of the way. Especially as we used it as a base to explore the surrounding area which is full of castles and medieval fotresses. The free parking and car wash across the road were conveniences we weren't expecting.
I had the best coffee of my time in France at this hotel, as well as amazing dinners and a good breakfast. The bar in foyer is also handy after a long drive. There are no lifts, so ask for a ground floor room if you cant handle stairs. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for three nights, and were well pleased with our experience, with the highlights being a peaceful environment, free parking, wonderfully comfortable bed, and real food for wonderful dinners (Restaurant closed on Sunday evenings).Provisions for breakfasts were varied and good quality.
We were given a warm welocme, received excellent service, and agree that the bottle of wine on departure was a lovely touch. My only criticisms are first the size of our room - designated as 'confort' rather than just 'standard'. It was, frankly a bit pokey - I couldn't see what identified it as the higher standard of room. And second - we had a digestif in the bar one evening - VERY expensive. However, we would stay here again. It is clearly a convenbient location for a stopover if travelling South to North or vice versa, and it is a good location for exploring the surrounding area.

Stayed for 3 nights. Easy to find. Good parking. Family rooms on 2nd floor have a mezzanine with twin beds ideal for kids. Clean. Staff always helped when we asked. Food is sound. Good stopover. Bottle of wine on leaving a nice touch.

We stayed for 5 nights in late July 2012. The hotel is on the main road into Saumur on the edge of an 'ecoparc', which really means a high class industrial estate. However, despite the non-central position, we were bowled over by the welcome, the service, the room and particularly the food. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and friendly; there's a big car park and the centre of the town is just a 10 minute drive away. The room was modern and had air-conditioning - it was classed as a 'confort' room and was on the first floor. There isn't a lift, so bear that in mind if you have mobility issues. The menus for dinner were varied and amazing value; we each paid 19.50 euros for the menu du jour, which has a good choice of dishes. The wine list is very reasonable too. Breakfast is the usual buffet-type affair, but perfectly adequate. On the day of our departure we were presented with a bottle of Saumur wine by 'la patronne' to help us to remember our stay.
This hotel represents all that is good and to be cherished in the tourist industry today - impeccable service with a smile, coupled with nice food, easy access and a comfortable room.
We cannot recommend it highly enough and shall be booking soon for a return stay!

We stayed for 5 days in July and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hotel du Parc. We received a very warm welcome from Patron and his wife - they went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable (they found somewhere to store our friends' bicycles safely, as well as the sausages they had bought in Brittany!). They have worked very hard to update and modernise the hotel to a very high standard.
Excellent service from hotel and restaurant staff, good breakfast and excellent dinner - home cooked local produce, well presented. There is a very interesting Menu du Jour and a good Wine List, including pichets of good local wine.
Hotel facilities were immaculate and stylish. Rooms were clean and comfortable - large bed and good shower. There is a large flat-screen television with a wide choice of channels, including English.
Rooms are air-conditioned and free WiFi is available.
They have Family Rooms and rooms with disabled access.
Location is convenient for Saumur and surrounding area, and you can hire bicycles by the day. There is secure parking.
Overall, the Hotel du Parc is very good value for money. We will definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: There is no lift, the stairs are gentle, but if this could be a problem you should ask for the groun...

This is a fantastic family run hotel. We arrived after an awful day, the automatic car we had booked over the internet turned out to be a manual, which, due to a minor disability, I can't drive. We couldn't get another automatic in Poitiers anywhere. Mme Dehaese found us a very reasonably priced automatic as soon as we arrived at her hotel in Saumur. This saved our holiday.
The restaurant in the hotel is remarkably good, M. Dehaese is an excellent cook and the prices are very reasonable. Normally we avoid hotel restaurants, preferring to visit more interesting restaurants in town but we couldn't find anything better in Saumur.
The rooms are very good, clean and good value. M. and Mme. Dehaese are very friendly and helpful and if you are visiting Saumur I wouldn't stay anywhere else. We had booked a three day stay but wanted to extend to 6 days, as Saumur is a good base for this part of the Loire valley the hotel was so good. Unfortunately they were fully booked so we had to leave earlier than we would have liked.
This is the sort of place you could come back to again and again.
