“Best Tank Museum Ever”

The range and variety of tanks, especially from the two world wars is awesome, but there are also other things to see here. Tanks from the Soviet Union, Israel, the US, UK and of course France, dominate the collection. Here also you will see a variety of vehicles including motor bikes, horse drawn wagons, missiles, a nuclear missile launcher, and equipment solely designed to kill other human beings.

The resourcefulness we as human beings have used to design weapons of destruction is here in abundance. Do not go here unless you are prepared to be impressed by the machinery on display. But it does make you think about our undoubted ability to destroy each other.

My partner and 11 year old son loved this place. It is literally full of tanks and some other military equipment. You probably need a couple of hours to look at everything and it covers vehicles from several wars and also from all the countries involved in the wars. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Samaur.

This museum is amazing. If you have the slightest interest in BIG bits of kit, then you are going to love this place.
A confessed Military tragic this Museum just blew me away, it must have largest collection of Tanks anywhere and it also has the ones you really want to see, up close and personal.
The displays are really well laid out to follow the development of Tanks through the years from WW1 to modern times.
If you travel to Saumur, this is not to be missed.

Very spacious, dozens of tanks, loads of stuff to see, laid out very well. The size of some is unbelievable. Even though I am not in any way a military enthusiast, I found this most enjoyable and thought provoking, imagine where some of these tanks have been. I would recommend this to anyone. Fantastique!

The museum is divided into sections based on the historical era. It begins with the first WW and then continues through the 2nd WW into modern times. Cold war is divided into allies and the Warshav pact. There are some armoured vehicles also from Vietnam and Korea wars.
