Warm friendly welcome by the owners, who were informative and helpful but not overpowering. The chambre d'hote is elegant with marble flooring and spacious rooms, each individually decorated to a high standard with good shower rooms. All spotlessly clean. We recommend the Terrasse room at the rear of the property which has a balcony overlooking the garden, where there is a small swimming pool, much enjoyed by our 10 year old daughter. The breakfast was very good, including fruit and homemade cakes and preserves. We had use of the kitchen and dining room which was very useful for preparing picnics and keeping items cool in the fridge. We enjoyed our own meal and wine on the terrasse one evening of our stay. The chateau is very close and the town centre and river only a short walk away (although down a hill!) with a good selection of restaurants (our favourite was the Grand Bleu which has excellent sea food), and shops. The chambre d'hote also welcomes bikes for those cycling along the Loire. We hired bikes in the town for the day and received good advice from the Tourist office.
