The Mercure was a really nice hotel and staff on reception spoke English so were very helpful. The rooms are really modern and comfortable and the rain shower is great! The bed is also really comfortable and had a great nights sleep. There are a couple of downsides that I found while staying here, I tried to order room service but no one answered the phone on two occasions and when I finally did get through the man couldn't understand what I was asking for and I was greeted with an abrupt "what" from him. Maybe it's an English thing but I found this very rude seeing as the majority of staff we're really helpful but this guy really let the team down. Apart from this I had a good stay and would chose this hotel again.

Room Tip: Room on the second floor was great even though it faced the bus stops outside.

Easy access to this hotel. Come out the south train station exit and there it is!!easy walk to the gardens and the old town city center to see the castle and the cathedral. Nice room, good sized. We were on the 6th floor (top) and struggled a bit with the slanted ceiling in the middle of the night, but that was our problem, not the hotel's. fantastic, helpful staff!! Good breakfast, but get your coffee elsewhere.

A good hotel for a short stay. The room was new and spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom (shower only) bigger than usual. The glass bathroom wall might put some people off, but the etched glass means you cant really see anything....a bit like a James Bond movie scene with the girl in the shower. The room was though a bit small with very limited storage space, and we would not liked to have stayed more than one or two nights at most. The car park ramp was a bit steep...if you have a long car be careful not to bottom it out on entry. And why do you have to pay 10 euros to park? Very handy for the city centre, perhaps a 10/15 minute walk

The hotel is nice and clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Good and easy communication in english. The location next door to the railway station, 10 minutes walking distance to the city centre and 5 minutes to the conference center is perfect.

Also a quite good breakfast in a cosy restaurant.

The rooms are very small. The warderobe facitilies are lousy and there is virtually no workdesk. But the rooms are clean and the bed is good.

Stayed here for a conference nearby. The location is good. Next to the train station and the shuttle for the airport in front of the hotel. Walking distance to the centre is ok, but you need to put on your walking shoes.
The hotel & the staff are good. The lunch buffet is very good. The buffet at breakfast is small but nice. The room I had was small, the bathroom petite. I had a double room, but would never book the room for 2 persons. The bed was very good. So had a good nights sleep.

I have stayed here quite a few times, but as Mercure has changed the style of the rooms, the last few visits have been with the "new" Mercure. The rooms are fine; small, bit dark for my tastes, but if you get an online deal on the room it is worth it. The location is excellent, but is the front desk staff that make it. I was there 2 Fridays in a row; they CANNOT do enough for you, whether it's changing a bulb or spraying air freshener. Quality young ladies, all of them!

Room Tip: Try for a view of the water...really nice
