Booked twin room, good size on the 4th floor with french windows and a balcony so had a good view. Nice bathroom but shower was hand held and can be a bit awkward also there was no shower curtain so water tended to go everywhere. Room could do with coffee/tea making facilities. Did not book breakfast as we thought 9 Euros was a bit pricey but had it on the second morning as when you look at prices outside the hotel it was about the same.
Probably visited Nantes at the wrong time as all the things we wanted to do and see were closed till February also with the exchange rate with the Pound and Euro at the moment it worked out quite an expensive break (2.50-4 euros for 25cl beer)

Stayed for two nights at this hotel. If flying there pick up a map of Nantes from airport information. We took Tan Aeroport bus (hourly) to Commerce although there is a bus/tram available every 10 minutes to the train station. Hotel is centrally located and therefore is noisy at night. Double glazing is good but would need a fan with you in hot weather as you would need your window/doors shut to be able to sleep. We found the reception staff very helpful and everywhere was very clean. A very good value 2* hotel.

I was nervous about staying in the Amiral - I could not believe that it could be inhabitable at such a cheap rate from venere.com. But I trusted the trip adviser reviewers, and was so glad that I did. It was excellent value. The location could not have been better; it is so central, right beside great shops and bars and restaurants.
The bathroom was missing a proper shower, but it wasn't a major problem.

We booked the hotel on Venere.com and paid 70 euro for the one night we stayed there. The location couldn't have been better. The hotel is right behind the Théâtre Graslin and within walking distance of a majority of the tourist areas of Nantes.

The staff were welcoming and professional. We arrived before our room was ready, but they offered to let us leave our luggage in the room while the room was being prepared. We came back after lunch and it was ready for us. While many Americans may complain that the rooms are small, the room was large enough for us and our luggage. Our room had an attached nice sized bathroom with shower. Wireless Internet is available, but you have to get a special box at the front desk into which you plug in your computer. The charge is 10 euro per box.

The hotel was clean and had an overall good design.
