Super museum about the history of wine growing and the people who grew/grow wines in the Anjou region.
Situated in the small village of St Lambert du Lattay, in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon appellation.
The museum examines the history of viticulture from the earliest of times to the modern day. There are good examples of tools and methods of viticulture, and a large display area of (some very large) grape presses from earlier days.
An enjoyable visit.
There is a self guided tour book available in English, and guided tours are available - at least one of whom can do the tour in English, - I was his guinea pig to make sure he could do so - ask for Claude Fournier if he is on duty.
Gift shop attached with some very good quality souvenirs of your visit. Recommendations available regarding producers to visit in the area.
