Firstly you have to get to Angers France we travelled by train and arrived at the main central station here you have two choices bus or taxi the bus you need is the number 6 not the the number seven as advertised in the Cointreau brochure you catch the bus directly opposite the bus station on the garrs papin it is the only single bus stop there buses 1 1s1d 4 6 10 and 14go from this stop you need the number 6 Z1 est which will take you to st barthelemy d Anjou get off at the Cointreau stop walk across the road and you will see the entrance to the visitors centre the bus cost is 1 euro 40 one way it takes aprox 10 /15 mins depending on traffic taxi cost aprox 15 euro the centre is on an industrial estate so do not be alarmed!!
You cannot just turn up you have to book a tour which will cost 10 euro per person you need to telephone and book tel no 0033(0)241315050 English is well spoken you will need to be there 20 mins before tour time booked
The tour takes about 2 1/2 hours which includes a tasting of Cointreau and three cocktails the tour is in French but they will give you an I pad in English the guide will also answer questions in English , the tour shows how it is produced , the history and the bottle plant. It is well worth the money and I found it very interesting there is also a well stocked shop there as well cheaper than the uk and Brittany ferries prices , to return just walk down the street a little and get the bus stop opposite the one you got off on by the roundabout again 1 euro 40 to the station again about 10/15 mins to the station the buses run aprox every 20 30 mins past the hour
I hope this information is helpfull as I found little or no information current on the net and what was there was out of date we all travelled here on the 4 th may 2013 if you decide to go have a good time it well worth it enjoy !!!!
