“A last minute find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We picked out friends up from Le Mans train station on a very quiet bank holiday Thursday and chose this restaurant from our reliable friend TripAdvisor. As usual we were not disappointed !!!
The quality service is exceptional with friendly, smiling staff. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. The seating is over several levels including a "cave" downstairs. The prices are very reasonable and the position is in the centre of the charming, historic Grande Rue area of the old city.

“A very enjoyable meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

The staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful and tolerant of our poor French, speaking to us in clear French rather than slipping into English which we appreciated as we are trying to improve! The food was great - we had the gourmet set menu. The Salade Périgourdine was particularly good.

“Hands down - The BEST restaurant in Le Mans”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

Well, the title sums it up.

I have lived in Le Mans for years now, and eat here at least 5 times a year. Every time someone comes to visit, this is where we take them to eat.

Fabulous food, efficient service, always the same fantastic wait team.

If you go for lunch, you can get a main course & dessert for 11€, or for dinner it's 16€. Best quality/prix/portions!

A MUST!

“Beautiful food at a great price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

We stumbled across L'Auberge des 7 Plats when we were in Le Mans for Le Nuit de Cheminée; a quick look on TripAdvisor confirmed it was worth a try - and how right we were!

The restaurant is on four floors, and was still full, but they managed to squeeze us in in the rustic cellars - it's worth booking if you can. We were attracted by the €20 menu, but in the end would have been happy if it cost twice that. We started with a caquelon d'oeufs (soft boiled eggs with fois gras), and as usual, Mrs D came out trumps with the Perigourdine salad. Mains were a perfectly cooked (and huge) pavé boeuf and a beautiful cuisse de canard; for deserts we had faiselle fraise.

Everything was cooked and served beautifully - certainly our best meal of this trip and only €20 each! It was rounded off with a recommended and lovely Haut Medoc at €19, so the bill came to €60 - fantastic for the quality of food we had.

Visit if you can; we aim to go back!
