Just back from lunch at Le Pavillon Rose and couldn't wait to log on and compliment a great little place. As funny as this might sound, the menu was the most French I've seen in a while, which got me asking why are traditional French dishes disappearing off the menus? Beautiful salad, lovely dauphinoisse without too much spice. Lovely crisp Chablis.. great!

If you fed up with all the numerous Pizza & Crepes places, go here.
Attentive staff, well presented very edible freshly cooked food, nice choice & good value.
It's a cut above the other restaurants in La Baule but forget a Taxi home, they all go to bed at 8.
Good ambience, busy & spotless & near all the chic shops in the main street, we would go again for sure, plus we are are fussy eaters in France.

An andouillette is always a good test for a restaurant. It can be very tasty if well prepared. Unfortunately, this was here not the case. It looked as if they forgot to clean the intestines before using them. The smell became so pronounced after a few bites that it became really disgusting.
My wife ordered a steak tartare. The exterior was burned and the interior completely dried out. She sent it back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, she received a new one. This time it was even worse, with a totally black exterior. The table next to us had a similar problem with a beefsteak.
I had the impression that all the money was spent on the trendy interior and nothing was left to hire a good cook.
