Yelloh ! Village Parc de Montsabert

Stayed for a short break with our three grand children (9,6 and 5). Would agree with all the recent comments, it certainly is a well maintained, peaceful and secluded site - set in a beautiful and interesting area of France. Service was excellent. On the last night our microwave failed during preparation of our evening meal. Although the site office was closed the friendly guy running the bar/cafe immediately said he could sort it. He jumped on his bike and five minutes later arrived at our cabin with a new microwave. I've stayed in many upscale hotels that wouldn't have matched that.

We stayed at the Yelloh! Village Parc de Montsabert from 18th to 28th August. Lovely site, very clean and well laid out. We stayed in a rental unit 3 bed cottage which was great for the family, 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The campsite itself is quite remote, although we had researched that before arriving. The kids were glad to have wi-fi access but this was charged at €7 per week per device which we thought was a bit pricey, especially as it was limited to the bar/pool area and even then, the connection was a bit hit and miss.
Pool was lovely and good use was made if this, even on the couple of rainy mornings when the pool was covered. We ventured out to the Bioparc zoo at Doue la Fontaine (excellent - see separate review), Brissac-Quince, Angers, Beaufort en Vallee.
All in all a relaxing holiday in a lovely setting but this site is probably a bit too remote for me to consider returning, especially with teenagers!!

Room Tip: We stayed in a 3 bed cottage (number 14) and this was a lovely sunny pitch, near enough to the facil...

we stayed at parc de montsabert from 11/8 till 25/8- 2 adults and two children aged 8 and 6. we rented a Tit home on site which was excellent value for money - proper beds (well sort of..), a sink unit and hot and cold water, a fridge and a toilet! very clean and new. the facilities at the site are great - fantastic pool, lots of sunbeds, bouncy castle, trampolines etc. our kids loved it as they are just the right age. older kids might be bored. our kids adored the kids club - they were heartily entertained by the lovely group of 'camping kids' staff - a really enthusiastic and committed team. there was a kids disco each night, boules, petanque, water polo, colouring competitions, stuff throughout the day if you wanted that.
the management were a bit odd - we saw a couple of times that the site manager got really upset with children being a bit boisterous on the bouncy castle - theres a way of dealing with these things and he didnt do it at all well. also on our last day - with a dozen kids waiting for kids club to start the management cancelled it and told the staff to do cleaning duties instead - not impressed with that!
the bar/restaurant is ok. tended to be shut by 10pm. food a bit limited although we had nice crepes there a few times. we thought the prices for soft drinks and ice creams were horrendous- E2.50 for a can of lemonade for example!!!
fab things to do nearby - brissac quince - gorgeous town esp on market day; saumur - beautiful; angers and chateau; doue la fontaine bio parc/zoo - excellent; nearby caves where you can see mushrooms growing and snails being bred. also sold lovely wine. overall fab holiday but two weeks in one place was too long for us - we would do week max here if we came back. supermarket nearby - 20 mins drive to Super U in Gennes. or a small shop in coutures 2 k away.

I stayed in August 2013, with wife + 7yo son. The site it idyllic. Set in quiet shaded wood, away from busy roads, underneath the tower of a nearby chateux / manor house. The atmosphere is very friendly and after a week we recognised many familiar faces. What was nice was the feeling that our little one could have complete freedom to wander and explore, play in the playground, bouncy castle, trampolines etc without us ever feeling nervous about how he would get on, or whether older kids would be too rough. (not that he's a wuss!!!) The pool always had plenty of space and there was no fight for loungers, and it was nice and warm with cover adjusted according to the weather. The campsite was surprisingly empty given the peak time of year. Probably only half full.

The downside (not for us) was that I saw a few teenage kids who were absolutely bored out of their skulls. Any kids too old for bouncy castles and too young for wine tasting (!!!) will find this site has nothing for them.

We stayed in a Gypsy Car, which was very small. Expect to walk through doors sideways!

Nearby there is plenty to do. The Terra Botanica is an absolute must. Half botanical garden, half theme-park. A nearby Parc de Loisirs Letang had loads to do, including water slides.

All in all, we loved it.

Mobile home was first class, clean modern, well equipped. The sites were very large, private and well kept.
Period 14/8/13 - 21/8/13. Two adults, one 10 year old child.
Pool warm, clean and never to busy. Staff very good. Playground ideal and safe large free bouncy castle, table tennis, indoor and out. Site very clean. Food very good value, as we're the drinks and ice creams.

The staff could go that extra mile and offer to help book things like horse riding for those that do not speak French, they did refuse to do this. The nearest stables do not have staff that speak English but they were very obliging but others were closed during this period.
All in all this is a first class four star site, that is very peaceful of a night.

All drivers took a lot of care when driving around the site, which made it very safe for even young children. Everyone on site seemed to be having a good time. Plenty of Dutch/French/English on this site plus a fe others from further afield.

We would recommend this site for families.

I am a first time visitor to Park de Montsabert, in the Loire Vallley region of France, and can not recommend this site enough

The staff speak every language required, extremely friendly and helpful from time of arrival to departure.

The site is beautifully hiden next to a french chateau, open grassy areas and lots of trees for shaded areas, Each pitch is surrounded by a neatly maintained hedge which forms a privacy barrier from your neighbours. This is a quiet place and attracts a european older crowd rather than the sun burnt/loud/football and lager types...

The pool is great and comes with a roof that rolls on and off depending on the weather.

There is a bar/cafe and shop on site

My 7 year old was entertained by friendly/caing and capable employees of the kids club in the morning and evenings (discos, activitwes, dancing, etc) Thet are at great liberty to wander around and make friends and the whole site has a relaxed feeling.

Room Tip: Pitch near the wooden huts/cabins are you are away from the other campers/action

This is our 3rd visit to the campsite..which says a lot.
If you're after a relaxed ,quiet holiday as a couple or with young children then this is the place for you.the facilities for camping are spotless. We stayed in a chalet( 5 of us) for 7, which would have been a tight squeeze. The beds weren't very comfortable...but that is the only negative that I have about this campsite.
The restaurant is small but all of the staff are so friendly...it doesn't matter because you're not in a hurry!!
Facilities include a lovely spotlessly clean pool which is open for lane swimming from 9:30 to 10:30, a lovely start to the day! We then had the best bagettes in the area for breakfast..which you order the night before , before deciding wether to laze around the pool or visit a local attraction e.g.Parc Botanica(brilliant!) or visit Saumur. We also hired a kayak on the river Loire.. 10 euros from the site.We also just had to visit on of the local caves, where the owners are so welcoming(and the vino was very nice too)
So it's up to you..the Loire valley, it can be as relaxing or as adventurous as you like...having said that, you have to go off site for the "adventure" bit.
The scenery around is lovely...chill and enjoy.

Room Tip: The chalets for 4 and 5 are more recent.
