“OK for 5 euros”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Small out gift shop at the entrance opens out back downstairs to longer rooms, hallways and cellar which contains some intriguing historic pieces.

There is a wax exhibit representing stages of her life, commentary is in 4 languages. The exhibit shows scenes from her birth to being burned at the stake.

Worth a visit if you don't know anything about Joan of Arc.

“nice little museum for the money”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

we visited this museum in july 2012 with our two children 6 and almost three. The museum is at the back of a little gift shop across the road from the church dedicated to Joan. Our children had not herd the story of Joan and so really enjoyed pressing the buttons and listening to the story (available in English french italian german). Im not an expert but the scenes depicted and story seemed accurate and it was avery informative little trip. At the end of the museum there were coins a copies of manuscripts and other objects relating to joan of arc story including film clips and information showing just how many films have been made of this story.

OUr six year old was inspired enough to write about the "burning of the brave knight lady Joan" in his postcard to his grandparents.

The Lady in the shop was very helpful and kind to the children (who enter free !) and it was overall a very pleasant informative experience (with a nice cool break form the very hot day!). It was accessible to our pushchair and wheel chair users (i think the shop had a ramp) and the museum was all a walk through of wooden ramps (with a chair at each exhibit for those who needed a rest). It takes about 30 minutes to go through the musem or an hour if you have to answer eight million questions between each display and listen to it in another language just for fun as we did.

worth the 3or 4 euros to visit.

“Very disappointing little museum”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

Rouen does not seem to know how to honor Joan. The spot of her martyrdom is marked by a big aluminum cross with no plaque. A few yards away is this tacky little museum which at least doesn't cost much, There are a bunch of tableaux of Joan's life with cheesy wax figures. You push a button to hear her story in chapters, but the first English chapter was so slow and laborious we said the heck with it. There are some movie posters and modern memorabilia. Really not worth your time.

We had to ask to have the lights turned on. Much of the audio did not work. The memorabilia was interesting. Did not know so many movies have been made about Jeanne d'Arc.

“Dire museum”
Reviewed June 28, 2012 via mobile

What a shame as such an interesting topic so poorly represented. Wax dummies in strange positions whilst a voice over tells the storey. It's pretty bad.
