I stayed here for one night with my husband and young baby. While the location is excellent for tourists, it wasn't very convenient arriving by car. We had to park in a car park 10 minutes away...not the best when travelling with a baby.

The hotel was lovely and very welcoming and had a gorgeous courtyard to pass the afternoon away. Most importantly it was within spitting distance of the cathedral.

Our room was up in the attic and although there was a lift, this was tiny and only took us part the way there. It was a bit of an effort getting up there. The room was basic but clean although a bit tired looking and the shower had seen better days. We asked for a baby cot which was provided and was good. We also asked for a kettle so that we could fill up some bottles...no such thing existed and we had to make do with 2 small teapots.

If it had just been us, this hotel is great for exploring Rouen...but not so easy with a baby.

The location was really good. In the city center. The parking was really closed to the hotel (11€ for 24 hours). The hotel was a tipical French building with a lovely court.
The rooms were very nice and clean. The bathrooms were very old and the wc-room was so little that it was impossibile to use it with the door closed.
The breakfast was really good. The room clean and quite and the buffet was really perfect. We were able also to test a delicious french cheeses!
There was an internet point with a free connection on a pc and there was also free wi-fi in the rooms.

Stayed for one night only - thank goodness. Located in a dank, slightly ominous and dark laneway adjacent to the cathedral, this is definitely a hotel that's trading on its location and implied olde worlde charm. A major disappointment and a rip-off to boot. Although the outdoor courtyard enclosed by beautiful timbered walls is charming, that's where the hotel's allure stops I'm afraid. We had booked a "superior" room and it turned out to be a double room with an additional single bed - very "hostelesque" - I'd love to know what qualified it as superior??!! A combination of plastic faux wooden flooring, fake leather settee and hideous curtains told a different story. The walls were bedecked in a vinyl faux toile de jouey covering that was torn in several places and there were trailing cables everywhere. The bed was well used and worn and the bedding was atrocious. Pillows were lumpy and an eon beyond their use by date, covered in hideously striped and solid coloured very faded, washed out linen - I've seen far better in jumble sales. Bathroom was appalling - dirty and dusty and smelling of stale urine. Complimentary toiletries were a joke and in fact the crumpled token "vanity pack" had been recycled several times; the hairdryer was held together with masking tape but the icing on the cake had to be the kettle which had a layer of vinegar in it - probably put in there to descale it but it hadn't been rinsed out. Charming!! There is no soundproofing at all between the rooms and the quality of the doors is extremely poor - very, very cheap, paper-thin laminate solutions. The courtyard was noisy and copious amounts of smokers' exhalations permeated our room. All I would say to intending travellers is DON'T...this place is a major rip off and my only regret is that I didn't opt for the Mecure which is infinitely better located and at least you know what to expect with the Mercure brand.

Room Tip: DON'T!!! Go somewhere else

Location, Look & Feel, Service
When I first saw the street and entrance I thought it had been the wrong choice, but then I opened the door and realised it had been the best choice ever! The recepcion, patio and restaurant are lovely decorated. Service is perfect. The room was cozy. Location impossible to beat!
Hotel Feature Tip: Book breakfast!

Stayed for two nights with my family and had two superior double rooms. The location of the hotel is excellent - right in the heart of the old town and in a pedestrianised side street. The hotel is full of character and the inner courtyard is a beautiful feature. The rooms are simply furnished but in keeping with the hotel and very pleasant. There was a good choice of television channels and free wifi which was very useful. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we preferred to take coffee and pastries at a boulangerie in town. No air conditioning which didn't trouble us but could have been a problem in the following week as there was a heatwave. Friendly and helpful staff and good value for the price - would certainly recommend to anyone who is looking for a character hotel rather than a standardised box.

Room Tip: Go for a premium room if you can.

We stayed two nights as a romantic couple. I had been here before 15 years earlier, but this hotel had slipped out of good reviews since. It's now back, just as strong as it was. Friendly and helpful staff (and cat). Room was a little small, but bathroom was fine. Bed was comfartable, flat-screen TV, lovely view over inner courtyard. Bad point was the toilet - the room was too small, couldn't even stand up without opening the door. Not for a first date, but fine second time around. Breakfast was good, self-service and local produce, fresh fruit and meat, plenty of fresh bed and pastries. Best hotel we have stayed at in Rouen. Would happily come again.

Room Tip: Calm and peaceful overlooking the inner courtyard.

Nice hotel very close to the cathedral. Very nice people and good service, rooms are clean and simple.
We had a room of 4 and came 5 ( one small kid) the hotel welcomed us without any problems. This was very useful as franch hotels are not so used to big families
