Hello Fleur des neiges,
Thank you for this comment, the compliment and the note of the squeeky floor, so that our future quests will not be surprised indeed!
Hope to see you again sometimes,
Marieke & Damian
Stayed here 2 nights in June 2018. Very friendly hosts. Small hotel. Charming and comfortable. Our room was clean and big enough. Not a lot of storage to unpack your things but okay for us. And the mattress...OMG a great sleep! I had read how comfortable the beds were in other reviews and I doubted it would be that noticeable...but it's true! Bathroom was a bit tight but not a problem for us. We have stayed in lots of 5 star hotels and Relais Chateau in Europe and The Oscar Hotel would not be near that category. Still, our standards are a clean, safe, comfortable and well-located hotel and The Oscar is this in spades! It met all of our needs. Owner/proprietor is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is always an assortment of fruit and fresh breads cheeses and pastries. Even pancakes and hard-boiled eggs if you wish. And all very well-priced. Plus a chance to meet other guests as breakfast is served cafe style on the main floor. I would stay here again!
We stayed in Le Havre for 3 nights. Hotel was fantastic, well located, clean and convenient. We highly recommend to visit Le Havre and this hotel as it throws you back to 50’s which is something special these days. So much to explore! The breakfast was fantastic as were the owners Marieke and Damien. Thank you! Misha & Darren
Splendid hotel, splendid location with a view on ”le Volcan”, very friendly people. The hotel (with Dutch-Australian management including an endearing young daughter) is, in every detail, a excellent ode at city-architect Auguste Perret. And very reasonable priced.
2nd time at this wonderful hotel, and as good as the last, sorry we didn’t see Damian but staff there were so welcoming and Le Havre is a beautiful place. Room lovely and clean and breakfast lovely will be back again
Sorry we missed eachother! But very pleased to hear that we can leave our wonderful Oscar Hotel in the caring hands of Sylvie, our newest staf member. Thanks or these nice words and hope to see you next time!
Have a good day,
I’ve just walked from Ouistreham to Le Havre staying in various hotels along the way. Oscar was the cheapest one, just half the price of one hotel, I booked and it was also one of the best. Well placed, clean, staff friendly and helpful and a decent breakfast. No lift and if you get room 14 the loo is down the corridor but if they were in the movie industry they’d be up for an Oscar!
Wauw!!! Standing ovation! Thanks a lot Dave, but really it's you who deserves an Oscar for Best Walker. Thanks for having stayed with us, it was our pleasure.
Hope to see you again some time, maybe to begin a next adventure from Le Havre to Paris up the Seine?
Have a beautiful day!
