We loved our 4 night stay here! We had a room that opened direct onto the courtyard, which was just a delightful outdoor space. The room was large and open and the bathroom was perfect for our needs, with a super hot/powerful shower! We loved the rustic breakfast, the cheese was devine (probably not so if you're not a cheese fan ) and the owners were very accommodating. Our French and their English was somewhat limited but there was plenty of smiling on all sides. Would stay again!

this hotel is gorgeous.the room was spotless and breakfast was ample the first impressions as we approached the hotel was misleading because when you open the double wooden doors a charming garden awaits.quiet location but only a stones throw from the beautiful harbour which is sorrounded in bar resturants . will definitely go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: we were on the first floor in the courtyard. quiet and beautifully furnished.

Apartment had some issues. Our ground floor windows opened directly onto the street, with only flimsy curtains between us and passers by. To keep out the morning light, you had to lean out into the street to close the shutters. And with no double glazing, it wasn't the quietest room we've had. There was no hanging space in the room itself, just a small area in the bathroom, that was too low for anything but shirts. Forget trying to hang a dress! And there was nowhere to hang towels.
Breakfast was basic French style, nothing exceptional.
What upset us, was the fact that when we booked this apartment, many months ago, we agreed to pay an extra €10 for a car space. On arrival, when I asked where to put the car, we were told they were fully booked and had no place for our car. I expressed my disappointment, but to no avail. However, when we drove the car down to unload our cases, the proprietor suddenly stated that there was a spot for our car after all. Not sure why he gave us grief in the first place, as we only ever saw three other cars in the parking area, which could easily fit 10 cars.
Have travelled extensively and met many far friendlier, accommodating hosts.

Room Tip: Don't book a room on the street if you want a full night's sleep.

Well, what can I say? 'Bon' would be a good place to start.........
What a lovely, charming place this is. Situated along the cobbled street Rui de Puits, approx 300yds up from the main square and the church St Catherine and the famous harbour. This converted 17th C convent has a wonderful sense of French history about it, situated around a beautiful courtyard garden. Cour St Catherine is
squeezed between the higgle piggle of typical french houses, behind large arched oak gates on a stone gatehouse type entrance, opening out to the said garden with rooms running off every corner.
Our room, one of the largest we've ever stayed in, was just off the small reception room, but we could access the courtyard via large sliding patio doors. It was a room that could easily accommodated 4 with room to spare, adorned with timber floor and cielings and was complemented with antique pine wardrobes, occasional table and sofa and a writing desk with period brass inkwell. there was a fair size bathroom with walk-in shower with all the adornments giving that olde world feel.
The breakfast room, literally 10yrds across the courtyard, was also sympathetically restoring giving it that 17C feel, with only a handful of tables and surrounded by antique culinary obje da. Again, restored in stone and beamed, their was never any shortage of something to look at during breakfast. This itself was a fresh rustic baton to share, a croissant each with jam and butter and as much tea, coffee or hot chocolate as you wished. Cereals followed swell as apple cake or tartlets. same every day but adequate and tasty.
the owner speaks little English but Eric (not sure who he was but he was usually there) was on hand to answer any questions. he spoke English well and was a perfect gent.
The only thing I would suggest for these rooms would be to include the facility to make a hot drink either first thing or last thing of a night.Once breakfast has finished at 11am the only way to get a drink was out and about in Honfleur.
Also, parking. It's a bit hit and miss in the narrow streets around the B&B so take advantage of the secure parking offered. It's in a locked compound 50yds up the street and you pay 10e per night to Eric and he supplies a remote control to open the gate. Peace of mind....
As for Le Cour St Catherine itself,- it's look, history, courtyard garden and sheer frenchness, if that's a word, ticked all the boxes for us on our short stay in Honfleur....

Room Tip: We asked for a room that opened onto the garden.

We hadn't a room booked when we arrived in honfleur, so we stopped in to this B&B to see if there was any availability. We were lucky they had a room. The room was a great price and very comfortable, just what we were looking for the breakfast was simple and perfect. We asked if we could stay a second night but unfortunately they were all booked. The staff were most helpful and arranged for is to stay in a room close by which was just as charming. Would love to go back and stay again.

This stunning B&B has rooms accessible from a beautiful enclosed courtyard. Great character, in keeping with the famous charm of Honfleur's picturesque harbour precinct (La Cour is just up the road from this area).

The courtyard includes seating and space to relax and enjoy the surroundings, which as mentioned are stunning. We were disappointed we couldn't further enjoy the space this way, due to wet weather while we were staying at La Cour.

Our room was excellent for the price paid; it was quite large & furnished with comfortable couches etc which made it seem more like an apartment than a room. The bathroom was spacious, with heated towel rack & shower which was a comfortable and consistent experience (I'm often frustrated by sub-par showers in my accommodation!). In all it was clean and beautifully presented.

A complementary French style breakfast is provided after each night's stay, which I found to be of an ample size and quality (being someone who often needs both in a breakfast).

For an extra 10 euro per night a secure carpark is provided a short distance up the road, which we made use of, as the narrow streets in this area make accessible parking difficult.

The staff are very friendly and engaging, and speak limited although helpful English.

La Cour Sainte Catherine was easily one of the best accommodation experiences during our 4 weeks in France!

We discovered Honfleur last year whilst driving around Normandy and couldn't wait to return! We brought our 3 children (24, 22, 11) and another family back to explore further.
The experience started with gasps from everyone as we walked through the big heavy gates into the most beautiful courtyard. Then we were shown round various rooms, all enormous with lovely bathrooms and spare beds everywhere - the spare beds don't detract from the room and are swallowed up in the enormous space. There are sofas and big tv's in all rooms, and the wifi worked perfectly everywhere.
The furnishings are a wonderful eclectic mix, the decor and colours are tasteful and classic, and as an interior designer with an eye for detail I was more than delighted. Even odd pieces of Ikea furniture here and there seemed to blend in - whereas normally I would have bulked at it! All the rooms are newly refurbished with lovely pastel colours, alongside ancient beams and exposed stone brickwork walls. I was panicking I'd booked too many rooms, but what they were doing was letting us pick what rooms suited us from those available. The housekeepers are delightful, though they don't speak much English, but we smiled and nodded and the whole experience was so friendly and utterly charming.
Liliane, the owner, speaks enough English to answer every question and was there at breakfast and throughout the day.
The location is fantastic, so quiet but just a few minutes stroll into the busy town for eateries, shops and amazing art galleries. We regularly nipped back to the hotel as it was so close.
The only thing I would change is the pillows on the bed as I don't like synthetic, and a feather or down pillow would have been more luxurious. Because despite the B & B title, this genuinely felt like a boutique hotel in every other way. We stayed in the purple suite which had a beautiful big window over the courtyard and a huge amazing bathroom with enormous shower and claw foot bath. The floor was smooth concrete with rugs by the bed and in the sitting area, and was charmingly rustic and simple. I imagine this would be nice and cool in the summer and a nice change from creaky floorboards! Our friends rooms were equally delightful, all massive and beautifully but simply furnished.
Breakfast was plentiful, with jugs of coffee, tea and hot chocolate, lovely jams and apple juice, and Martines superb home made tarts.
Would we return? In a heartbeat. For the location, the ambience, the charming decor and it's huge rooms, the beautiful courtyard and for being so very clean. Au revoir La Cour Sainte-Catherine!
