great little gem of a place.. hard to find (hint: next door to hotel monet). great welcome from hosts, and best continental breakfast served in the loveliest and oddest breakfast room. good views of honfleur and normandy bridge from the bedroom. great little place, recommended.

My wife and I recently undertook a 30th anniversary tour around Germany and France, ending our two week roadtrip with two nights at La Liniere before heading home. We already knew how pretty the town was, but had not stayed at La Liniere before - and what a wonderful treat it was when we rolled up to book in. What doesn't come across on the internet is just how stunning the house actually is, especially the interior which was gorgeous and filled with the sounds of jazz and classical music while we were there - so lovely and very French of course.! Our room was perfect (no.3) and will be our choice for future visits, having an internal shower and toilet. We had no trouble finding the house, despite some concerns voiced by other travellers here, so don't let that put you off. The house is set at just the right distance from town, which can be reached in around 5 minutes down some pretty cobbled streets full of interesting and quirky shops. Jean Christophe was utterly charming and looked after us in a quiet but thoroughly attentive way. Both of our days started with tremendous breakfasts of scrambled eggs on fresh sourdough bread - just delicious. Cars can be parked on the property if requested. otherwise you can park easily on the road out the front. So, in summary, a wonderful visit to a beautiful house which we have every intention of coming back to.

Room Tip: We had room 3 which gave us a fabby view of the town and had an internal toilet and shower.

On a driving tour the Normandy coast we originally only booked for one night at La Liniere. We were so impressed however one night soon turned into two and would have liked more had we have had the time. The house is amazing, the kind of house every British tourist in France would love to drop on - we couldn't believe our luck. Jean Christophe and Jean Louis were perfect hosts, both very charming, courteous and attentive. The house itself is perfectly positioned for visiting Honfleur - just far enough out to be away from the very busy harbour, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and crammed full of interesting antiques. Breakfast was amazing! an experience itself. Can recommend the museum tours (Jean Christophe kindly gave us free passes to them all), the walking tour of the harbour recommended by the Tourist information, the 'celebrity' garden walk followed by a French stick, pate and a bottle of cider on the beach!.

Room Tip: We stayed in the double room with a private external toilet on the landing outside. This was an abs...

I lost the directions to La Liniere but managed to ask an elderly french lady who was toiling slowly up the hill from Honfleur 'where is the big house for b@b called 'Liniere'-and she knew straight away.
I'm not surprised -it is an imposing building standing near the top of a very steep hill.As we arrived I heard a piano playing [I hope it was Ravel or Debussy], then in answer to our tentative ring at the door a very charming French man greeted us most courteously and showed us to an equally charming bedroom.
The town was a short distance down the hill, teeming with tourists - a fascinating place that we will definitely be revisiting.
Back at La Liniere all was quiet and calm - our host's equally charming father invited us to have a late night drink in the garden, bringing out glasses and chair cushions.
The next morning we bid a regretful farewell -but not until I had [apparently] delighted host and other guests by playing the piano - Schumann on a beautiful blue-skied morning in France -what could be better!

Room Tip: We had the smallest room without a loo -other rooms are better equipped but probably a bit more expe...

We stayed 2 nights at La Liniere and very much enjoyed the hotel It is a property which could easily be featured in a magazine on interior design with imaginative use of colour and a wealth of antiques and interesting objects. Much more like a home stay than a hotel. Jean-Christophe went out of his way to be kind and helpful. The hotel is situated just outside Honfleur overlooking the town from a high view point. En route to the hotel it is possible to discover backstreets that you otherwise may not have cause to visit. One piece of advice - card payments were not possible at this time so make sure you have cash handy.

I stayed one night in La Liniere this summer. All house and rooms are beautifully decorated with antigues. The room was pretty spacious and well maintained. The bathroom seems newly renovated and very tidy and clean. All bread and cheese in breakfast were very fresh. I wish I could have a couple of days.

Another visit 1-3 July 2013. This is such a lovely house & owner, very helpful. We have been visiting almost every year since it first opened, always a pleasure. This time our family took it over - 2 babies + parents + grandparents. Great breakfasts. It's uphill on the hillside next to Hotel Monet, but c.half the price !), so very quiet. Bedrooms on 2nd floor.

Room Tip: Bergamote has extra single bed, so ideal for 3 people or 1 child.
