My wife and I have just returned from a couple of nights at La Petite Folie. I'm not usually drawn to posting reviews but on this occasion, I can't resist recording the perfect service we received from Catherine - warm and friendly but not intrusive. The hotel is very charming, delightfully furnished while the quality of the breakfast and the elegance of its serving leave me longing for another visit!

We stayed here in late June on our first stop in France. What a charming town, lovely accommodations and delightful hosts. Catherine was most helpful. We enjoyed a late afternoon nip of calvados in the folie which was a delightful place. The rooms are clean, bathroom had shower and we rested well. Would stay here again or recommend to others

This trip was perfect for our engagement. I reserved 4 nights at this quaint little bed and breakfast. It was a phenomenal stay with caretakers that aim to please. Being from the U.S., we were a little out of our element with France's culture, language, and customs. However, the staff at this establishment went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at ease. The owners, one being American; were friendly, fun, and had a great many tips and intricacies to share. This place made our trip worthwhile. It has a relaxing and inviting feel. The gardens in the rear of the house as well as the private 'folie' where I proposed to my wife are areas of pure beauty and serenity. The 'breakfast show' as it was affectionately termed, was a wonderful spread of traditional homemade breads and jams, fresh squeezed orange juice, french pressed coffee, fresh fruit, and boiled eggs. The owner, Penny, frequently shows up to engage her guests with her quick whit and lighthearted air. She was a true highlight and pleasure to chat with as she is a world traveler and a truly unique individual. My wife is somewhat picky when it comes to cleanliness; especially in the bathing area. Every room in this b and b has it's own private bathroom and the rooms were clean to a standard beyond most. The beds were very comfortable and the shower accommodations were exquisite.

The town surrounding this diamond in the ruff is a unique blend of the old and new. Traditionally, this is an old fisherman's town, on the coast-a short drive to Normandy. It is now an up-and-coming newly reintroduced town to the arts. The eclectic shops and artsy feel to this town provide entertainment and scenery that compare to no other. A great many restaurants from a simple pub serving the staples to a fancy dress-up and celebrate with the best of the best feel abounds. Many outdoor cafes, pastry shops, and antique dealers throughout this town with cobblestone roads that offer calvados (oh so good, homemade apple brandy--world renowned), organic oils, vinegars, candies, waxes and soaps. The beautiful gardens next to the sea (and right across the street from this place), top off a nice, unique blend of what my wife and I like on a vacation-- a nice mix of entertainment with a healthy mix of r n' r.

Room Tip: the blue room is a popular choice but they all offer a great stay. They also offer apartments for e...

we spent 3 nights at la petit over the d day weekend and it was a pure treat. Catherine is just the most wonderful young lady. Breakfast's were lovely and on our entire trip of three weeks, this was the best value for money. I would gladly recommend to anyone.

We, two couples in vacation, stayed 3 nights in La Petite Folie last weekend. The place is amazing!! It's is perfectly located near the village center, the rooms are big, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast, made by Catherine, with tasteful local bread and homemade jams and applesauce is more than delicious.
Penny, the owner, took excellent care on us doing everything possible to make us feel at home and make our stay wonderful.
We highly recommend La Petite Folie for everyone and for sure will come back again.

My husband, Nathan, and I were lucky to experience Le Petit Folie and the superb hospitality for 7 nights recently and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we stepped through the door and received the enthusiastic welcome, we knew we were in for a treat!

The house is full of charm and character (quite like the owners) and the breakfasts were creative and delicious. Penny, with her bubbly personality, went out of her way to help us and was the perfect hostess. Staying at Le Petit Folie was the perfect beginning to our 4 week holiday and was certainly the best B&B in which we stayed during the entire trip. Thanks Penny, Thierry, Catherine and Sylvie!!!!

I agree with all the wonderful reviews posted. Would just like to caution those who cannot easily do stairs that the guest rooms are on the second and third floors and the only access is via a spiral staircase. You take your luggage up this way, too. We didn't find it a problem at all, but some people might. We were there on a Saturday morning. The Honfleur farmer's market, just a block away, was great. There was an organist playing in the wooden church (in the middle of the market), so that visit was special, too.
