“Honfleur sea food”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Good honest menu of very fresh sea food. It was imaginatively cooked and presented and the waitress was friendly and helpful.

“Excellent very reasonably priced”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

The restaurant is in the tourist area but serves very traditional French food of a high standard. The menu of the day is only 14 Euros but features an excellent, but unusual starter of oeufs en meurette ( eggs in red wine) followed by beef bourguignon and fromage blanc . This is the second visit and both times the cliental was mainly French . It does serve excellent seafood mainly oysters , mussels and similar fare. Well worth a stop and parking is opposite on the quay and only costs 4 Euros per day

“For gourmets”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Honfleur, is a small place where one can make a multitude of unseen pictures: the particular style of the houses, the large number of art galleries and indeed the excellent dishes served with a smile. Try the variaty of oysters, the coquille Saint Jacques, the goose liver as we did. All excellent at a reasonable prize. During the day the temperature was fine, but cold later...

“Good budget option”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Went there for lunch during our weekend trip to Honfleur.
Found the place a reasonable option to eat.
Went for the bistro menu which included starter/main course and desert for a very reasonable price (22.8 Euro)
Starter selection was good (fish tart and shrimp salad) were bothe fresh and tasty.
Went for fish as main course and found the cod/salmon well cooked - with reasonable portions.
We liked the bouillabaisse (3 type of fish) which was well spiced - allthough missed some sort of seafood/mussels in it.
Mixed emotions on the desert selection: while the chocolate tarte was very nice (warm fudge chocolate on the inside) - the "tarte de frommage" was in our view not more than a yoghurt with some sort of marmelade on top.
Quantities were adecuate, the service was friendly and efficient.
Would recommend it as a budget option - value for money is very good.

“Good for a quick lunch, being in a touristic spot”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Le Bistro du Port is, relatively speaking and on average, a reasonable place to eat. Some excellencies (the plate of crustaceans is great, like the half lobster, la creme brulle very good), but some drops on the cheaper menu (lamb rack was quite stiff, the duck was a bit over-garnished - which in fact is very french as attitude). Service with ups and downs, really depends on the waiter.
Pricewise, in general reasonable; 25 EUR for the half lobster, 39 EUR for a full plate of crustaceans, basically for 2 people, desserts ranging from 4 to 8 EUR.
