The most horrible experience ever!! We got there at 6:15pm, had to ring a bell to register in and we were served by a very obnoxious lady who's attitude towards us let us know we were a burdened. We had reserved a cottage for 2 days but stayed only for 1 and payed the extra day anyways. The place was dirty, the bed was wrapped in a thick plastic mattress protector and was so old that it was caved in the middle. There were notes all over the cottage saying stuff "bold and red" like - if you dirty the dishes you will be charged an extra $15, if you move the furniture, you will be charged $15. They claim that it is free internet but there was NO internet connection at all and when it did come in it was really bad. The furniture was old, not well kept and the bathroom was filthy and did not even have toilet paper. We bolted out of there at 8am the next day and even took pictures of us putting the key in the mailbox because no matter how often we rang the bell, no one came out to serve us. A most awful experience. Their view of the bay is good only if your trailer is right by the beach, otherwise it is blocked by buildings, wires and satellite dishes from the trailers in front of you. Do yourself a favour and drive an extra 30 minutes instead of staying here.

We stayed at this location for the Labour Day long weekend at the start of our holiday. We booked last minute but were able to have a water front site even though the park was fully booked. The staff was extremely helpful. I read the reviews after booking and was very concerned about the comments; however, we would stay here again. After staying in many RV parks during our three week holiday in Nova Scotia, this park allowed the most footage between trailers. We even lucked out with true Nova Scotia entertainment. What a beautiful view watching the tide go in and out. What a great way to start a holiday.

We camped at this campground with long time camping friends for the long weekend. My husband and I arrived on Thursday and the rest of the gang arrived Friday night. The sites were so close together one of us had to ask to move so we could open our awning.
On Friday night after everyone was settled in, we had a camp fire and we sat around talking, (no music, just talking). The next day we had another couple come to visit, ( they were charged 10.00) when they told the manager at the office who they were visiting her comment was oh the army crowd, that reminds me I have to go talk to them. A short time after the manager came to our site and said she had several complaints about the noise from our site and if she got any more we would have to pack up and leave, she was very rude and spoke to us like we were trouble makers. We spoke to a number of campers after she left and ask if we were to noisy and nobody heard a thing, after talking to more campers over the next few days we discovered that they had issues with her also.
We have been camping for many years and we are always respectable of our fellow campers and we have never had an issue till now.
This campground is in a beautiful location and the view is amazing, it is a shame that the management is sooooooo bad! We will NEVER camp there again!!!!!

After booking this campsite (tent site) we read the reviews on TripAdvisor and so we were very worried! But our experience was great, no problems at all, the location was beautiful, fantastic views of the ocean and the Five Islands from our site. The washrooms were very clean as far as campgrounds go. It was not our typical preferred camping experience as we only have a tent and prefer to be in the woods and not in open spaces. But it was fairly quiet, staff was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. Kids enjoyed the pool and the waterslide was a real hit. The pool could have been a little cleaner in terms of skimming it but it certainly was not green. Don't listen to the negative reviews!

I am from New Brunswick and have been to almost all the camp grounds through out and I am now going through Nova Scotia. I stayed at the five islands ocean resort on the long weekend of aug. 2-5. There was another couple with us and their 2 dogs. This camp ground was perfect for relaxing and enjoying yourself. They make sure that this is a family campground and that there is no groups going there just to party all night and keep everyone up. There was alot of campers out till early hours in the morning sitting around the campfires having a good time, they were all respectful of the other people around them and it was quiet. No one was screaming or yelling like you get at some other campgrounds, The staff there told us of some really good places to go fishing and they also told us of some sites that would be of interest to us. They were all friendly, the camp ground was clean, and the view is amazing.

I would recommend this family oriented campground to everyone that wants to go have a relaxing time and not have to worry about other people partying all night screaming and yelling. The staff are great and the campground is in the perfect location.
