“Fantastic Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014 via mobile

We had a short stay and wished we could have spent another night. This really is a great find, the host Sandrine could not be more helpful. Her house and garden are really beautiful and perfectly situated in the wonderful village of Giverny.

The B&B has all the facilities needed with the added bonus of bikes and also Sandrine arranges tickets to the Monet house and gardens which is only a 5 minute walk away.

This B&B is very quaint with lovely garden. It is in great location for visiting Monet's gardens which are a very pleasant walk of about 15 minutes from the B&B. What made our stay exceptional was the wonderful person who runs the B&B, Sandrine. She is warm, amusing and went beyond the call of duty to ensure we were looked after. She made bookings for dinner for us, ensured that breakfast was available for us very early on our last morning so we could catch our plane, fed us beautiful cake one afternoon and then sent me the recipe, and helped us navigate our way back to the airport by printing off maps and giving us good advice. We felt like old friends by the time we left.

Our communication with Sandrin was very easy, VERY usefull and very warm.
Unfortunately we had only one night to spend there, during our Normandy tour.
We were two couples travelling, and we got the two upstair rooms, one next to the other. Very convenient - as we could pull a curtain to 'cut' the hall in two, to help keep our privacy as we walked in/out of our private spacious bathroom. The bed was comfortable, nice linen - very inviting.
The house preserves a 19th century atmosphere, and it is obvious Sandrin paid a lot of attention to details. Parking was on the street - apparently a standard in the little village of Giverny - even though the road is narrow, and bi-directional .-)
The breakfast was good - fresh orange juice (delicious), tea/coffee, jem, cereal, baguet & croissants, butter and cheese for spreading. Sandrin is attentif to your needs, and quickly comes to serve you...
All in all - a VERY pleasant place to stay. Thank you, Sandrin - we might be back for a longer tour...

We stopped overnight on our way from the Dordogne and what a wonderful experience. We were showing France to our Canadian friend and she thoroughly enjoyed (as we all did) our stay at Les Jardins d'Helene. We shared the family suite which is ideal for friends travelling together. We can only endorse everything that has been said preciously, the rooms, bathrooms, gardens and breakfast are all extremely good. The close proximity to Monet's Garden is an added bonus, we will certainly return. Thank you Sandrine.

Only a brief overnight, but nevertheless we enjoyed our stay with Sandrine at Les Jardines d'Helene and our time at the Money Gardens and in the quaint town.

Sandrine was extremely helpful and responsive, from the initial contact regarding room availability throughout our brief stay. She's a warm and caring hostess. The house has a number of nice touches; she's done a great job decorating and making it interesting. Breakfast was very good. We very much enjoyed our visit. We would definitely stay again.

The Gardens are wonderful...especially later in the day once the tour groups move on. It was the perfect time to visit. The town empties our pretty much and it's a nice quaint spot to stroll in the evening...have a drink and a nice quiet dinner. The historic Madame Baudy Restaurant was a great spot.

Not only is this a beautiful part of the country but Sandrine is a beautiful person. She went above and beyond during our stay and I cannot recommend Les Jardins d'Helene highly enough. It was also close to Monet's garden and the room was beautifully decorated with a huge bathroom and an excellent guest lounge. If I could return tomorrow I would

Stayed here for three nights in late April-early May. Really, really nice. Great breakfasts. Gracious, friendly, super-helpful hostess. The bicycles she provides (at no charge) made our explorations of Giverny, Vernon, and nearby villages so easy and enjoyable. Thoroughly enjoyed reading the French history books on her shelf while listening to her old Chet Baker LPs. If we ever go back---I hope---that's where we'll stay.
