Picture postcard old water mill property (wheel still working and providing electricity for the house) in lovely grounds. Warm welcome by Stephanie and the assorted dogs, cats and chickens.
Comfortable room (we were in Les Cocquilles - or Poppies in English) with views over the wallabies bouncing around in the grounds. Private bathroom across the corridor. Assorted other exotic animals in next field!
Excellent breakfasts on the patio, and I recommend that you take up the offer of having an evening meal with the hosts - good value and Stephanie is happy to converse in French or English.
Rooms have no keys, but the property is protected by electronic gates; you will be given the code, but I suggest that you do it in daylight the first time so that you can remember the sequence at night when you can't see the numbers!
A very relaxing 4 night stay. Bicycles are provided free of charge to tour around the local area, and the property is 5 mins walk from Monet's Garden. Plenty of other lovely villages and chateaus etc within easy touring reach.
One word of warning about Giverny; most of the hotels/restaurants are not open in the evening, or at least were not in August (Hotel Baudy being an honourable exception), and there are no shops - not even a boulangerie. Vernon is only just up the road though.
If you like traditional properties, friendly service, and particularly if you are animal lovers, this is the place for you.

Lovely house, lovely welcome, lovely breakfast. And guests who spoke to each other with ease- no doubt due to the atmosphere created by the hosts.. And the sun shone on the gardens.

Ate well at Baude - but should have booked with the hosts of the B&B for their table d'hote.

Magic! A charming welcome (in excellent English) by Stephanie, who showed us to our beautiful little room, which had windows on two sides overlooking the gardens, we had a private bathroom just across the landing. Our accommodation was very clean and comfortable, and typically French in style and furnishings, we just loved the place. We took advantage of ordering a meal when we booked the accommodation, and so pleased we did. It was a very warm evening and we sat around a table in the garden sharing drinks, nibbles and chatter with Stephanie, husband Gerard and Gerard's brother for an hour, before our main meal was served to us at our table for two. Such a relaxing evening, we didn't want it to end. The weather was definitely on our side too, because it was plenty warm enough to eat breakfast in the garden the next morning, when we had the opportunity to talk with other guests also staying at Le Moulin Des Chennevieres. Our only regret is that we had booked to stay just one night before moving on to another area. One day we hope to return but will certainly recommend this wonderful B&B to anyone staying in the area and it is only a few minutes walk to Monet's garden. Pat & Mike.

My daughter, granddaughter and I have just come back from a memorbale visit to this enchanting Mill House. We couldn't have asked for more - Stephanie was so welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. We had the suite which had two rooms, a terrace and bathroom, this suited us ideally as we each had our own space when needed. The rooms were delightfully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Looking out over the gardens in the morning was beautiful with the most unusual animals browsing in the fields. When we arrived we were awestruck by the beauty of the building and my granddaughter who is a 12 year old budding artist did many sketches of the building. It is a short walk to Monet's Gardens and Museum and the Restaurant Baudy is but a short walk - it was so nice that we ate there every night. We missed our hosts first night dinner as we didn't realise it was available but those who were there loved it
I plan to take my husband there for a holiday and will stay in the Daisy Room which is quite special (providing it is free of course!!)
I would highly recommend this very special B & B

My Hero and I stayed at Moulin des Chennevieres for 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer. This wonderful mill house is so very 'country french'. The gardens are beautifully kept be Gerard and Stephanie with lots of interesting places to find a seat and relax. The menagerie of animals (most in fenced fields) is awesome....including wallabies and emus, who, after chatting to them for some time, I realized, are very french and definitely didn't understand Australian! ;)
Our room was quite large with a shower nd whbasin in the corner. Our private toilet was outside the room. Unusual but not a problem. The bed was very comfy. Our double french windows opened to overlook the gardens below which was not only picturesque but a blessing as it was a heat wave while we were there. The house is decorated in wonderful antique furniture and furnishings with a wonderful eye for detail. Breakfast on the garden terrace each morning was lovely with an assortment of fresh fruit, breads, croissant, yogurt, cereals and juices. There were several of Stepanies home made jams.
On our first evening I enquired about dinner and we were invited to a picnic down be the stream. Gerard cooked an amazing array of meats with salads and bread...and lots of rose wine! Their little girls had a wonderful time frolicking in the stream with their 2 dogs and toasting bread on a stick over the fire. What a wonderful memory.
I had noticed that there were a couple of bad reviews prior to our visit and was anxious not to upset our hostess when we first arrived. All I can say is that you obviously can't please all people....or perhaps some people are just too hard to please! because Stephanie is delightful. She couldn't have done more for us. Very friendly and attentive to our needs. I can't imagine there is a lovelier place to stay in Giverny.
So if you notice a bad review, do as I do and check other reviews by those posting it. As I say, there's no pleasing some!

From the artists enjoying painting in the amazing gardens; to the selection of animals strolling care free in the lush green paddocks, you will relish in the comfort of first class comfort. The Daisy room was really beautiful, the food was plentiful and we were made welcome and at home.

This was our second stay in The Moulin. The place is beautifully decorated. The host and hostess couldn't be more welcoming. They served us twice a delicious home made dinner with candles in the gorgeous room downstairs. A great experience.
I recommended the Moulin to two of my friends and their stay was also a great success.
Our interest was not only for the Moulin, but the garden and grounds all around the place.
I remember us sitting on the little balcony overlooking the paddock, drinking a glas of wine.
Monet eat your heart out.
