Everyone talks about the fantastic gardens of Versailles, but the Monet garden outshines the Versailles on every point. Everything was so well planned with stringent colors and shapes of all the different parts of the garden. You don't have to be a garden expert to be impressed here.

This is a must see if you are in France and interested in artist such as Monet. He was an artist that became renowned while he was still alive and with money earned from very prolific painting he created s beautiful garden. Go early in the day because it is the place to see. There are many of his colleagues art displayed in his home and you get a real sense of how he lived.

You are able to see in real life what he painted. A must see!

Many of the tours give you very little time in Giverny. We spent about 5 hours in the " village " and that was just about right to see everything including The Clos Normand, to buy those little things that you want to take with you to remind you of the visit to Monet's gardens and house.

This is a MUST place to visit in France ! We must have spent more than 15 weeks so far visiting different areas of France and the Jardins de Claude Monet have to be one of the 5 most impressive sights we have visited in this country . We had been to the beautiful gardens of Keukenhof in Holland a month earlier and thought that we had seen the summum in gardening and landscaping but we think that the gardens of Givenchy are even nicer though smaller ! Add to this the paintings of this great artist in his house and you get an unequalled site !
