“American Impressionists”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

A good variety of artists from America. Preferred some artists over others, such as Mary Cassatt. Also, don't miss out on the permanent exhibition downstairs.

They had an exposition of the American Impressionists when we went. Very nice. The restaurant is also very nice and the prices reasonable.

“Very poor collection in very small museum”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

The collection is small and not reach. Save your time. Close to this museum is situated Monet House and Garden - spend there more time.
If you visited before l'Orangerie Museum or d'Orsay in Paris - you has nothing to see here. Of course, it is only my opinion.

Dear Vladimir C,

We are sorry that you were disappointed with our museum. Our purpose is not to show a permanent collection because ours is very modest, although we are increasing it and try and always show at least one work by Monet here in Giverny – thus responding to the demand of our visitors. Parisian museums are indeed worth seeing for that matter. But we present very didactic and unique exhibitions on and around impressionism to make our visitors discover the riches of an art movement as we see Giverny as an emblematical place for this kind of mission.

“Well Worth a Visit”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

Just a short stroll from the Monet House and Garden, is this intimate, light filled museum. The exhibition for Spring 2014 highlights the American Impressionists who were inspired by Monet and the French Impressionist School. An audio guide is well worth the cost. Due to a knee injury, I was briefly in a wheel chair and the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. The gift shop and cafe has much to tempt the visitor.
