Description: A small house just before you enter the gardens of Monet in Giverny...a beautiful old house where you can eat inside or amongst the gardens under umbrellas. Excellent cuisine fro. Foie Gras to salads...the atmosphere is intoxicating as are the host and hostess! Worth a stop before walking five minutes to the Monet gardens

“Friendly welcome & great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

Saw this restaurant as we parked the car. Very busy at lunch time - with a popular Arden setting. We went ack for an evening meal & were surprised how quiet it was (Monday evening). Great welcome from the host who attended to us and chatted with us. I had grilled local sausage - delicious and my wife had a salad with ham. All prepared by the host / owner. Highlight was the flambé banana - delicious. This is a relatively new restaurant & rooms and will no doubt be very successful with the personal touch of the owner.

“Good, traditional food at a reasonable price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

We ate here because it was too early to check in to our B&B and we just picked it because it was handy. What luck! The proprietors were so kind and helpful and listened to our awful French without cringing. I had the country terrine and it was a substantial portion and was really tasty with plenty of bread served alongside. My husband ordered the coupe normande for dessert: apple ice cream with a generous serving of local apple liquer poured over the top. Yum! We would have eaten here again had we stayed longer. They also have a wine shop and 2 rooms to let. It's a great location and it was a great find for us.

“Warm haven on a wet day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

My wife and I sought shelter here from heavy rain on our way to visit Monet's garden, intending only to have a light snack and coffee. The open wood grill and the smell of meat cooking persuaded us to instead have lunch, and what a wise decision that was! The food was great, and the host and hostess were very friendly with a unique sense of humour. The lady of the house also gave my wife an umbrella so she could enjoy the garden despite the rain. Prices were reasonable and the fact they accepted card when I was short of cash was a real bonus.

“Delicious regional cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

This restaurant served me delicious regional cuisine. The setting was invitingly warm and cosy on a rainy autumn day and the owners and staff were extremely friendly and delightful.

“Very Pleasant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

My wife and I dropped in for lunch after looking through Monet’s Gardens.

Staff were most helpful and very pleasant. Menu is limited but you get quite enough food for lunch and the salads were particularly large. Cost was average reflecting its position and exposure to tourist trade.

The restaurant is a converted house which has an partly open kitchen which is quite a bit of fun. Outdoor seating would be very nice on one of those rare sunny warm days.

In all we would recommend this restaurant.
