We found the service both friendly and prompt. The wet day may have deterred a few fellow travellers. The fresh quiche lorraine was outstanding. The pastry, light f
Egg and not too salty bacon made for one of the best I've had. Strongly recommend for those who like quiche Lorraine - and a large slice!
We shared their delicious apple cake and tarte tartin cake with cream. Good coffee to finish.

this is right opposite the monet gardens and able to reap the vast amount of visitors from there after their visit. i do appreciate that at times we can all be a pain in the you know where, however our custom after all is giving you a job! a smile and some politeness wouldnt go amiss! it was like the rudeness of parisien cafes! everywhere else in giverny people were polite, and it wasnt just to my mother and i that the waiters were rude and dismissive , i watched them for awhile and almost all people who entered were treated in the same abrupt manner . many of us that visited speak some freanch and enough to order food, many didnt but then if youre custom is 80% english speaking then maybe you should try and learn some! a lesson in good service they could go and visit la musardiere and see how well they do it!!

Food is good, not much to shout about. However, their tarte tartin was delicious. Don't expect full attention service as it is a very busy restaurant. However, they are nice people once you get their attention. Would definitely come back for the desserts.

Often restaurants beside leading tourist attractions are very false/plastic, with poor food and even worse service. However I am pleased to say that lunch at this restaurant is far better than that - the service is fast and efficient, the Seafood salad was fresh/good size/reasonable and delicious. Whilst this is not a glamorous restaurant, it works very well and the outdoor terrace is charming and if the sun is out a great place to sit and relax after your tour of Monet's garden.

This restaurant has a great location opposite Monet's house (it's part of the foundation) and I guess that's why they don't have to try too hard. After all, huge numbers flock to this attraction and I guess they are not bothered about repeat custom.
It had rained earlier in the morning and when we arrived for lunch we sought out chairs that were drier looking. A waitress came over and wiped some chairs for us at a table for six and we sat down (seats were still pretty wet). Nobody came to give us menus so we fetched some ourselves. At this point we were told to move as there were only three of us. Although it was quite early and the restaurant wasn't busy, we moved as instructed but the seats were wet so we wiped them down ourselves. At this point the waiter started to put cushions on the seats where there were no customers (!). So we helped ourselves to some cushions as clearly we weren't going to be offered any! By the time we left no-one had sat at our original table.

The setting is beautiful and the flowers by the restaurant are lovely. We had salads which were very nice and the portion size was good.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There is a cafe down the road set in a sort of garden centre which looked very nice. Perhaps the service is better there?
