Definitely worth to visit. Very small but cozy house, beautiful garden. Be there as early as possible – a LOT of people want to see Monet`s lily.

“A special house and gardens giving meaning to his paintings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Giverny was part of day tour to Versailles. Monet's home was delightful; full Country French surrounded by a little village. But, his gardens and Lilly pond were so beautiful and truly eye-candy to the gardner. Don't miss this trip; it is well worth it.

“A dream come true”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

It had been a life long dream of mine to visit Monet's gardens and see what inspired his wonderful work. I visited in early June and was worried that with the recent rain and cold weather the garden wouldn't be at its best. Well, I had nothing to worry about as they were just spectacular.

Arriving on the train from Paris was a matter of just following the crowds. It was easy to jump on the shuttle bus etc. I thought the garden may be overcrowded but there are anough nooks and crannies to get a sense of peace and quiet.

The inside of the house was also lovely and well maintained. All in all a wonderful experience that met my expectations, and a good day trip from Paris.

“lovely day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

The gardens and house are well worth a visit, they are beautifully laid out and the house is very quirky. The famous lily pond was not what we expected, it was quite oriental with the bamboo "forest" - very peaceful atmosphere [even on a busy day]. We went in mid July and the garden was a riot of colour - you could feel the inspiration for the paintings everywhere you looked. There are some fabulous paintings in the house which together with the original furniture really gave an insight into Monets' personality. Our teenage daughter was even interested. Giverny itself is a lovely village, really quiet - even though it was a very busy day. Would definitely go again. 28.50 euros for 3 adults, we felt it was value for money.
