Stunning gardens, an interesting house & a lovely day out. Slightly annoyingly long queue for tickets, but otherwise well organised Easy to get to by train from Paris-Vernon & a shuttle bus from there. Reasonably priced. A must see, particularly if you like Monet.

This was our highlight to Paris/France. We spent two weeks in Paris and at the end of the second week we decided to go on the Fat Tyres Bike Tour to Giverny. It was truly a great introduction to Monet's Garden, but my 9 year old and I felt that the two hours we spent there didn't do justice to the garden. Therefore...

We went on our own to the garden, this time in the morning on Bastille Day! My girl said this was her favourite activity and even beat Disneyland! I have been teaching my 9 year old about photography this year, and so armed with cameras we got the early train to Vernon, the shuttle bus to Giverny, and still had lines at the beginning of the day. We raced to the waterlilies but still there were so many tourists that it was hard to get a photograph of the Japanese Bridges without anyone on it. We did do it though...took us three different time periods and about an hour of waiting.

Not only did we take so many different photos, according to different lighting situations but my girl spent about an hour colouring her own version of Monet's garden. It was truly lovely.

The gift shop at the end is substantial, so if you are wanting to buy something schedule in some time.

All in all we spent about six hours in the garden and felt we did justice to it. Neither of us are gardeners, but both very much into photography and colours/textures so this was an incredible adventure. You don't have to be a painter to enjoy this garden, just someone who enjoys light and serenity.

Without a doubt, we would visit again next time in Paris.

Great day at the gardens. We took the train from St Lazare and then rented a bike to go to the gardens. It was an easy bike ride, 30 minutes or so. My kids really enjoyed it. We visit the house and gardens, that were stunning, had lunch and made our way back to the train station. The train was a bit crowded at the end of the day, but we were so happy after spending a beautiful day in such a peacefull place that we didn´t mind it. Don´t miss it!

If you are not rushing around Paris trying to see everything in a few days then this is a very worthwhile trip for all lovers of Monet.
An easy hour train ride, tickets to house and gardens are on line so no need to stand in line.
Have been there in the aspiring with the glorious Spring flowers and this year in mid-summer. It is ever changing and just beautiful . The lily pond depicted in his paintings has been all restored to the exact way it was. We love it!

This was as expected. beautiful, recognizable and interesting. Went here as a quick detour on the way to Paris. From that respect, it was worthwhile. I would not have been happy to go here as a planned trip from Paris. Gardens are small, expensive, and packed to the brim with tourists. been there, got the photos. Will not be back but glad to have seen it. Very expensive.
